Erm... I'm not male, but for reasons that I can't be bothered to discuss here, it's probably appropriate for me to post on this. It depends. Personally, I find kids who haven't gone through puberty dressing like they're on the pull one of the most disturbing things ever. On the other hand "mode...

Well, let's keep in mind this was the nineteenth century and he was a Victorian.
And he was brought up in a time that was racist and sexist. his folly does not disprove evolution.

All fanaticism is dangerous.
Be it religious or atheist.

It isn't religion or lack of it that gets people slaughtered, it's to do with power.
Religion can be used as a power tool. As can many things.

Yes. Yes, there is.
Anything that is completely biased will not give you the truth, no matter how close you think it comes to it.

Are all your aruguments against evolution based on rather feeble jokes? No, you cannot explain everything on this planet, but then the Bible certainly doesn't provide answers. I'm sorry but your arguments against something have to be more than just saying "that's silly- you can't say that, it's...

Of course, if it was Christian biased, everyone would be saying how wonderful it was, how it was spreading the Word

Ok... I agree that is a stupid argument, and as an intelligent atheist I'd never use it.
Actually, God doesn't exist for me because he's a subjective life force, and I find a belief in a greater power unnecessary for A: my happiness B: my spiritual well being. My old soul's doin' just fine...

Narnia had an awful message. It bouyed up religious and racial intolerance, and seemed to suggest that war and the throwing of little kids in as soldiers was a good thing. Actually, now that I think about it, Harry Potter has a more Christian message as it gives the idea of loving others and trust a...

I quite like the idea of pantheons, they're more based in real life and nature than the idea of One God. They experience things in the way that humans do and so can empathise with humans rather than just being a creator.
monotheism is the basis of politics, pantheons are the basis for Gods.

I dont remember that site but could find it if anyone wants it. Just imagine what has been faked that we dont know about. I would like the site please. Could the same not also be said for the Bible? It doesn't completely disprove evolution anyway. You really only have to look around to have some ev...

surely death being impossible would be a bad thing as it would means nobody could have children, due to the whole overpopulation (not that we haven't managed that anyway.) And a world without pain wouldn't be great either- pain is based on nerve reaction (If anyone disagrees, please say) and is just...

Morals or standards?

I wish for someone to define morality, as I feel I must have a skewed version of what it means. I always felt that morality was not doing something because you have been told it is wrong without giving it any thought. I'm a little worried by the idea that I would run my life by what I have been told...

Alright, consider this. You have been raped. You become pregnant. As a "moral" person you decide it's not the babies fault, so you decide to keep it. Wonderful. Now. You have just been raped, you are still at school, you are very young, giving birth is actually very dangerous. There is no ...
