Interesting. Thanks for posting this.
I've wondered if the 120 year life limit on humans after the flood was infliction of cancer, but maybe not then.

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth
Oh I see. You guys are talking about environmental pressure to evolve. I'll try and find time to read Why Evolution Is True, but the one quote already posted isn't very convincing. I understand it's not in context, but it uses circular logic and misses the fact that 1% of all the fossils should stil...

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth
I am open to speciation. If God made large cats and they evolved into different types of large cats, that's ok by me. I have a hard time believing, in the face of facts, the large cats evolved from something lesser. I do think God created the hominids separately, at least humans separately. If you c...

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth
Sonofaletheia, could you please explain how geographical patterns explain evolution? I'm not sure how geology is related at all. For the record, I do agree with modern geological science. As for DNA, vetiges, etc. I believe there are valid explanations from a creationist perspective. Also, yes, ther...

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth
First, I don't consider myself particularly knowledgable on this subject, or claim to have all the answers. I come here and elsewhere for answers. Not to give answers :) Hugh, I believe my view is similar to Hugh Ross. I am an old earth creationist. I do believe many similar animals were created. It...

Re: Genesis Creation vs. Darwin's Macroevolution Myth
The fossil record may have SOME transitional fossils but not as many as would be predicted/expected from an evolutionary perspective. The creation perspective would expect some mutation/micro evolution which would account for the FEW "transitional" fossils we have. I don't consider neander...

Re: How were people saved pre-exodus
Thanks guys for the replies. But I'm still a little uncertain of this. If it was only by faith, then why did they need sacrifices ever? Couldn't Jesus have been the only sacrifice ever required. I understand that giving up a portion of your crop or herd was a sign of faith, much like a monetary tith...

How were people saved pre-exodus
Before God gave instructions to Moses about sacrifices, how were people saved? They sinned, but there was no system in place to atone for their sins. The first death I'm aware of in the Bible was a righteous man, Abel. I presume he went to heaven. He offered a pleasing sacrifice to God. But how was ...

Re: my take on the tower of babel
like the flood, i think that the TOB has great potential to be a sticking point if taken literally without a bit more depth into the translation. archaelogical digs all over the world show people lived ...er...all over the world during this approximate time - and i feel it is too much of a jump to ...

Re: Keeping the sabbath...?
I've always felt God asks us to observe the law based on his INTENT. For instance, the pharisees were criticized by Jesus because they were missing the intent of the law, and following the law the way they saw fit. God asks us to take a break from our work. Even in the versus B.W. posted, I read the...

Re: Is it a good idea to register on an atheist forum?
Some great responses. Thanks to all. I've lurked around on a few of the atheist boards, and generally felt they share bad information, but I really felt compelled when I saw someone quote the scripture about Jesus saying forsake mother father brother etc for me. There was lots of other slander going...

Re: Is it a good idea to register on an atheist forum?
Thanks FL, and that was kind of my hunch. Can you expand on that a little though? Is it because they whipped your butt with superior logic (I don't actually think that) or because they just resort to insults (seems to be the trend I see out there)? I hate seeing the blind leading the blind away. I f...

Is it a good idea to register on an atheist forum?
Everyonce in a while I lurk around atheist forums and I wish I could interject and correct some of the VERY wrong information being spread. But I have a feeling I'd just be spat on. Is there any good that can come of posting on such forums? Anyone ever done it?

Re: Why are there hard times?
This is kind of a Problem of Evil question. 1. "Hard times" usually aren't actually that hard, just not as cushy as we're used to. 2. The choices we make cause the hard times. 3. The choices others make cause the hard times. 4. We live in a fallen/sinful world where hard times come and go....
