Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers
Yes I think you did misunderstand me Neo. I know quite a few atheists who wouldn't dream of such things. I was using hyperbole to make the point that abortion is crossing the line, and the only way to justify it is that there is no moral giver, which then means any crime can be justified. I by no me...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers
I'm baffled so many atheists support abortion. I mean, I get the gay marriage thing. Fine. I'm not sure why two gay non-religious people would want to engage in a religious ceremony, but it's not a battle worth fighting IMO. But abortion, please... I suppose from a strict atheist worldview, all life...

Re: Bill Nye to Debate Ken Ham on Creationism/Creation Scien
Needless to say and to put it quite simply, that debate is going to be a utter disaster. And I'm assuming it will be a disaster for both sides. And just, you know, a overall disaster. And it will attract the mainstream media, and as usual, they will then use this debate to mock and belittle Christi...

NDE'ers see a loving light, but will they end up in hell?
Hi, I've been interested in NDE's for a few years now. There's a common theme. Lying in the hospital. Hovering over body. Start heading towards a great loving light. And for some, they see their life play through. This loving light is so strong some of them have attempted suicide because they want t...

Re: A good response to atheist's OT "evil" God objection
I guess in order for me to believe the giants were offspring of women and fallen angels, someone would have to show me where scripture says angels have the ability to reproduce with humans. And if the nephilim died in the flood, then were around again after the flood, as was suggested in the podcas...

Re: A good response to atheist's OT "evil" God objection
Kurieuo, Hugh Ross briefly described his reason for that in a recent "I Didn't Know That" podcast. Something about the pit the fallen angels can't escape. So now, fallen angels don't dare interbreed with sons of men because God would lock them up forever. I can't remember exactly, but he h...

Re: The Foolishness of Many Non-believers
I haven't been on this board very long, but I to have seen a lot of this. It's pretty unfortunate that they don't actually want to engage and ask the tough questions. Like frootloops. He got a few questions. Answered them so straight faced like he had it figured out. Then when the tough questions ca...

Re: Islam ?
I'm starting to see that the peaceful Muslims are the ones who ignore parts of the Koran... I've known quite a few Muslims, and none of them would ever behave like that. But they seem like the minority right now. Or at least the ones that ignore the teachings of Muhammad. Pretty sad reading that art...

Re: The Evidence for God
Evidence for God: Countless near death experiences that are generally similar with only some unique outliers. Ability to think "about", creativity, concept of supernatural, desire for eternal life, beauty, etc. Unexplainable medical healing. The beginning of the universe. The beginning of ...

Re: The Evidence for God
Along the same lines, why do we have a desire for eternal life? In a naturalistic deterministic world, death should be simply accepted. Not given even a thought.

Re: The Evidence for God
I'd suggest that in a totally deterministic, naturalistic world, the fact animals (us) can conceive of something supernatural is evidence for God. It's not a slam dunk, as the evolutionist would say we can conceive of it by the creativity that we have gained by evolution. But think, where did creati...

Re: Islam ?
I'm asking these questions to understand Islam better. I have had many "nominal" Muslim friends. It seems odd to me so many Muslims can believe so strongly in something and yet it must break down somewhere. Do they fail to see the break down? I also want to understand it better because sci...

Re: Islam ?
I have considered Philip's quotes, and I appreciate them. It's shocking. And partly why I can accept that following Islam leads to hell. If someone goes along with that, they must be hard heartened. Another question though, if you don't mind. Thanks for your patients FL, I am learning from this disc...

Re: Islam ?
Sorry for the late reply. Had some internet problems. Thanks for all the info so far. I've been doing some research and I'm starting to see that Islam is a fairly violent religion. FL, I see what you mean by nominal Christian. I've met some of those. I would be surprised if more than half of church ...
