Re: Your Creation stance?

YEC has major scientific errors, to be clear. I'm not sure there are any theological errors.

Re: Through the Lens: Evolution, "What About Transitional Fo

We know there are an even or odd number. So which do you believe - odd or even? Do you see it yet, that you actually don't believe either? That's my position on your two propositions. Ok I see what you're saying. I have no belief about whether I have odd or even number of hairs, because I don't kno...

Re: Through the Lens: Evolution, "What About Transitional Fo

I believe I have hair, even though I have not seen my scalp. It could be fake. But I do not know certain things about my hair. I don't know the average thickness. How many are grey. Even or odd. Etc. We know there is or is not a God. So which do you believe it is? Do you believe: 1. There is no God....

Re: Through the Lens: Evolution, "What About Transitional Fo

Rubberneck, do you just don't have any belief system then? You don't believe God doesn't exist. Seems I could then say you believe God exists. But obviously you don't believe that. So you have no belief. ? I don't understand how someone cannot have a belief. You either believe God exists, or you bel...

Re: Your Creation stance?

I believe in creation ex nihilo, that God created the Universe at the time of the big bang out of nothing. That the scientific observations about a 14Bil year old universe is reasonable. I believe the creation story described in Genesis 1 and 2 is true, but I interpret "Day" to be a long p...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

If modern humans had a Neanderthal's birth canal, there wouldn't be any disadvantage I can understand, perhaps it would be even more conducive to reproduction. The PNAS article you linked to didn't delve into the differences between the pelvis structures of humans, Neandertals and their most recent...

Re: Nature of Reality: A Challenge to Atheists

Raised Yec! But the problems within it were too many, even as a child, I remember at a young age asking my Dad, "how do we see light from stars that are a million light years away, if it's only 5000 years old". Or "If Dino's are millions of years old, how is the earth only 5000 years...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

Paul, interesting thoughts. I'll mull over them and try and form some kind of conclusion. I'll re-read the Biblical account and see if it ties in at all. Perhaps God made a mutation or something that constricted the birth canal in Eve's offspring and now all women. I think your mother's case would b...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

Genesis says that Eve's pain would multiply, which means that there already was to be pain, it would just be more so. Since Eve wanted to KNOW what God knew, right and wrong, good and bad, PAIN and pleasure, then that is what she got. Do you think it's possible God planned human birth around this e...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

Ok suppose for a minute (and I'm not sure this is true) that modern human birthing is no "worse" than that of Neanderthals. Is it not odd that evolution would change the way women give birth without much environmental pressure. I suppose it's unfair to ask that question, as the article alr...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

I'd still suggest it's an impedement to survival, hence evolution has a motivation to make child birth easier. Does heat dissipation trump child birth? I really don't think so. As a Day Age creationist I think possibly God made this modification in anticipation of Eve's dissobediance. Just thinking ...

Re: Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

The two factors that combine to cause unique problems with human childbirth - big brains and bipedalism I meant from Neanderthals, which according to the article, are about the same size as human babies. But ya, from primates, that's a fair point. Also, human childbirth is less of a mortal risk tha...

Human Birth Canal evolution problem?

Hey, while searching around for what ever came to mind, I started thinking about the female curse in the garden, that Eve would be in pain during child birth. And came across this article: http://www.pnas.org/content/106/20/8151.. It's a little over my head, but I gave it a read anyways. I got to th...

Re: Through the Lens: Evolution, "What About Transitional Fo

Sort of, but not really. Especially the last one. What evidence from the picture are you basing your observation on? What! You asked: Between the wolf-like skull at the top and the dolphin skull at the bottom, do the other skulls look consistent with time-ordered and morphology-ordered intermediate...

Re: Through the Lens: Evolution, "What About Transitional Fo

Sort of, but not really. Especially the last one. I suppose if I thought evolution was the only explanation I'd force the connection. But I bet I could muster up a bunch of skulls from all kinds of animals and make the same chart. I'm like Rick though, my biology background is pretty poor.
