Re: Does the forum believe in the rapture??
There's a difference between being present during tribulation and being subjected to it. E.G., Jeremiah was present in Jerusalem when God brought judgment on it, but he was not subjected to that judgment.

Re: Was God afraid of man?
GOD Almighty is afraid: ... There few important points to mention here: 1-GOD who feared men, but they also reveal a very serious scientific blunder through suggesting that the earth is both flat and sitting still in the universe. 2- The verses also demonstrate the Bible's gross ignorance about the...

Re: Scripure says the Earth is flat??
B. W., was that canine and feline precipitation around the time of sunrise or sunset? And did all of Denver get that canine and feline precipitation? Or did some parts only get the feline or canine type? For that matter, did all of Denver get rain? Or just most of Denver. IOW, sometimes people use g...

Re: Scripure says the Earth is flat??
Here is a relevant quote from a blog post about Bible interpretation I wrote a couple of years ago: Figures of speech - Look for the point of similes, metaphors and hyperbole rather than trying to interpret such figures of speech literally (e.g. Deuteronomy 4:24 and Hebrews 12:29 or Matthew 23:37). ...

Re: What about vestigiality? How can this be explained?
Most/all "vestigial" structures really are not vestigial. They have important functions. Back when the concept of vestigiality was concocted, the structures deemed vestigial simply had functions that were either unknown or considered unimportant. And it was, to some degree, self-perpetuati...

Re: Article by J. Warner Wallace on archaeology and the NT
The Documentary Hypothesis is/was a bit more radical than simply pointing out that Moses wasn't around to write the last chapter or so of Deuteronomy.

Re: Article by J. Warner Wallace on archaeology and the NT
It's ironic how many of the supposed errors in Luke were alleged based on incomplete knowledge. "There is no mention of ______, therefore he/she/it didn't exist," is poor and dangerous reasoning: our knowledge of ancient history is very fragmentary, and such claims have a tendency to be ma...

Re: Gifts of the Spirit ... continued ....
4 - The Gifts, callings, and promises of God are without repentance even to the degree that you could say that even God swears to his own hurt in regards to peoples abuse of the gifts of the Spirit This is something that should scare the something or other out of Christians, especially Pentecostals...

Re: Gifts of the Spirit ... continued ....
5 - 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 is placed between two Gifts of the Spirit chapters - why? It points to how theses gifts are to be governed. If not, a lot of noise and nothing is caused.... To a degree possibly greater than any of his letters, in 1 Corinthians Paul is writing to fix problems. A key cause ...

Re: Gifts of the Spirit ... continued ....
3 - There is abuse of the gifts of endowment and for such and sadly the common response is to shun this empowerment altogether That is certainly a factor. Another, IMO, is something along the lines of something a pastor of a X church taught several new believers. He drew a circle, which he labelled...

Re: Gifts of the Spirit ... continued ....
1- Individuals in the body of Christ all have differing gifts (endowments from the Holy Spirit) and this makes the Church to function as a team in implementing these. This aspect is largely ignored in the modern church world. Absolutely! In the full context of the full function of a local church, T...

Re: Is the Queen Dead?
Is good, clean, and funny in the eye of the beholder here? If not, I won't argue. Maybe better to try to play by the rules when one is crystal clear about them. Can anybody tell me why for over 30 years I have wanted a realistic painting of Prince Charles in his mother's wedding dress? If not, I ma...

Or the Jehovah's Witness cologne? It's only sold by door to door salesmen. "Ding-dong" ... "Watchtower calling." If it's the Amway cologne do you have to let them "Show the plan" before you can buy it? At least the acronym LOC still works ( Liquid Organic Cleane...
