Re: A simple explanation why there is no "Intelligent D

What does this mean for the theory of Intelligent Design? Let us ignore the Darwin-centric arguments for a second, and judge this theory entirely on its own merits, using our system of universal truths. Let us assume the theory is correct, and that there is/are intelligent designers that can be det...

"Opps, threw the Word out the window didn't you?" No, just the assumptions made about it. If God wanted you to know when He started things, He would have left a date at the beginning of the book. But He didn't. Instead He left you a clue: He described the creation as being in days and the...

Geez, this is exactly the type of crazy talk that drives people away from Christianity. Any thorough study of astronomy will reveal that the time needed for the stars and other heavenly objects to fully develop takes millions of years. You couldn't see them if they didn't. To roll your eyes and call...

I don't know much about the law, but those who say that we receive energy from the sun are missing a vital piece themselves: the sun itself is a form of complexity.

Re: If Jesus was God

From what ive heard, then why did Jesus pray etc? Also how could God be himself and Jesus at once, i have alot more questions but could someone try explain this to me a little better. As far as I can figure, although Jesus was God, when he became man he took on the characteristics of man and the ne...

I also believe that if God wanted us to think that the universe was created over eons as the day-age theory suggests, He would have said so. The same thing goes for literal interpretation. At the beginning of the Bible there is no note that says "By the way, I did this 6000 years ago". Th...

Re: Having trouble believing

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Yes He does: Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things fro...

Re: Having trouble believing

Im finding it hard to believe the Bible lately.. its just because so many things dont make sence. The creation story.. and others.. especially the bible itself, why did God have to make it such a hard read? He knew there'd be people that would take 'pillars of the earth' or 'four corners of the ear...

It mentions Satan all the time. The Bible says that human beings commit evil, but that there is a greater evil beyond humans.

At the same time, one could argue that we are not in the real world at all. Again, what came first? The physical relm or the spiritual relm? If the spiritual relm came first, then it is the "real world" and the one we live in is fake but we have lived in it all our lives. It is all we know...

Re: The Matrix

Hi Everyone, There is now the belief by some philosophers, that we could actually be living in a "matrix" like computer system... that has become so advanced that "beings" living in it are so technologically advanced that they don't actually realise they're in it - or see the wo...

What causes evil?

From a secular perspective, is it possible to prove that evil exists beyond human creation? If you believe the Bible is true, then there is no problem, it tells you flat out that there is an evil out there beyond humans being bad. I guess what I am really asking is: Is evil orcahstrated by the devil...
