Bernie, I greatly respect your belief. In many ways it does seem to express the perfect attributes of God; love, mercy, faithfulness, even his justice...because even though right now I believe in a literal eternal hell it seems to me in my finite mind that it would be imperfect justice to sentence ...

As for the mechanism that we cannot see into the spirit realm is a mystery. I believe this is not a mystery, when all the pieces of the puzzle are correctly assembled. The piece by G.H. Palmer identifies to me the common problem that needs to be overcome in order to understand the problem which sol...

Mixing theology and philosophy a bit

In the spirit of this section, Nature of Reality and Being, I'd like to start with one of Aquinas' foundations, borrowed from Aristotle, that the good equals being. In Aquinas' thinking, only good = being, and evil is "accidental" or a privation of good. As such, evil, in St. Thomas' eyes,...

Hello Jac3510, You ask some good questions. Note the part I italicizes above. Where are you getting this from? These are my words. They're drawn from experience and common sense. Paul also said, "For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, ...

I'm a universalist who agrees with you that much popular modern universalism seems to turn on this one concept, that aionios doesn't necessarily mean forever. I consider the point weak and of only passing interest to the universalist argument. Anyone who can figure out the argument I present here......

I was talking about rebutting the nonsense you were spewing on hell. Try rereading my posts. I've been "spewing" nothing about hell....my posts target a logical deficiency in the traditional thinking about salvation. It's funny how one's preconceptions often cause one to "hear" ...

irq, I thought you said you were finished here. What spirit within you drives you to continue, despite the fact you said you were finished? Back to my original post, I asked if anyone was able to falsify the logical proposition I presented, that the idea of an eternal hell can be shown to violate th...

Hello irq, Bernie, I will not engage in an argument comprised of false doctrine after already showing that God say's hell exists and those who reject Christ will suffer eternal damnation from that action. As you wish. I agree with you that you should try to avoid using false doctrine. God bless you ...

Hello Kurieuo, I enjoyed your article. There are too many politically correct Christians out there today who seem to fear losing face if they defend the principles of God's dualistic design. Keep up the good work. I especially appreciated your comment, "...it has been observed that when a part ...

Thank you for the welcome, BW. God still destroyed the city. Why? For the obvious reason....evil. He first separated the righteous from the wicked (Ezek 21:2-5), Lot & family from it. This is the structure of salvation, that a remnant is saved....a very common Biblical principle. Can you explain...

BW, I think the "God is within" is more pointedly a Gnostic and new age teaching, isn't it? I think it's true that most Gnostics and new agers consider themselves to be mystics, and there's a lot of overlap today, but the mystics of old, despite the fact that they came up with some pretty ...

Hello IRQ, "God alows us to play in the pool of the knowledge of His attributes, but we are restricted to the shallow end. We need to be carefull not to judge the Creators motives with our limited knowledge of the depths of Him." Thanks for the caveat. On the other hand, reason is a tool G...

Q

Hello IRQ, How many sins are there that are unintentional? Opps, sorry I didn't mean to rob that bank. I'm not sure I understand the question in light of the second comment. Could you elaborate? If Jesus' Sacrifice wasn't good enough to cover ALL sins, save for the blaspheing of the Holy Spirit no o...
