Re: Manna
Okay, I respect that. Just a thought though... Have you heard the story of the man, in a flood, stood on his roof praying to God for help? A boat passed, they offered help, he refused saying God would save him, another boat passed, same response, then a third. He drowned. When he came face to face ...

Re: Manna
What if God wants you to seek Him out? To know Him? To come to Christ? I'm not sure if you can believe in Christ by proxy. As for God fulfilling our destinies, controlling or directing, what does it matter. It matters because He longs for all of us to come to Him, freely, independently and willingl...

Re: Manna
I believe we each have our destinies. What if, at every moment, one is the sum of what one has been, and yet at the same time constantly creating who one is to be (destiny)? The pattern of everything one has done, experienced, is part of who one is. What if there is a greater awareness in one, ( th...

Re: Manna
For me, a belief in God is sufficient. I believe we each have our destinies. We fulfill those destinies in order for God's plan for each us to be achieved. As far as God controlling us, I think it's more like directing than control, although, in the end, I believe everything happens as God knows it...

Re: Manna
I mean, if I understood you correctly, you think, it is not us who chooses to lie. Let me ask you: why do you think that? We don't really choose anything, it's just the way it is. In order for everything to happen as God plans, we do what we do. At least that's the way it appears to me. And what al...

Re: Manna
Strange. Proverbs 6:16-17 ESV There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, God choosing for us to lie when he hates lie? Strange. To some, yes Yes, because it does not make sense. I do not try to ma...

Re: Manna
So do you want to nuture that relationship? Yes, He will do what He will BUT He also promises eternal life to those who accept Christ as their saviour. That's where the trust comes in. How deeply have you explored this? Actually, I'm quite content as I am. All I wanted to know originally, was what ...
