Re: Provision/poverty
Thanks, Hamster. I have been praying, a lot! A bit like that woman in the parable who kept banging on the judge's door. I realise it hasn't been the best time of year, though - it's summer here and Christmas/New Year is the biggest holiday season. Not that my husband takes much notice when I point ...

Re: Provision/poverty
The bible is quote clear that we are to fend for ourselves to the best possible way we can. Christian are to help one another in time of need, this is a give on course BUT that does NOT mean that people are to depend on others for their survival. They must "stand on their own two feet" wh...

Re: Forgiveness for demons?
It does, at least, make you wonder about what's behind all the problems in this world To keep on track with this thread.. :) satan is in rule of this world with his demons. Yes, we have a sinful nature. But add our sinful nature with the legions of demons working to tear as many humans away from El...

Re: Forgiveness for demons?
. . http://www.demonbuster.com/ Is this website a joke? I can't tell if they're serious, or trying to be funny. For instance, is this serious? BOYCE and BOICE are two demons that interfere with any electronic equipment, i.e., phone, computer, printer, automobile, etc. If something malfunctions, com...

Re: Faith and works
The questions comes... Can a Christian love darkness more than light? The answer is yes, and their life will be miserable. People are comfortable living in darkness as they know what to expect and have a sense of security in feeling rejected, or living in abuse. Institutionalized to darkness is a b...

Re: Faith and works
Rick: What I've been saying, is that it's possible for someone who trusted Christ, and therefore has eternal life, to curse God and even claim to be an atheist , without losing eternal life!!!! I'll say this, discussing theoreticals are interesting, but I'd say this belief is very much theoretical....

Re: Faith and works
I should mention that the mechanism for Salvation involves god (the son) working in coordination with holy spirit. (A spiritual change then occurs in that person - which he will interpret in different ways). Belief/faith is what triggers that mechanism into action. A certain threshold of belief is n...

Re: Faith and works
There are some examples of faith but no works.....
The thief who died on the cross next to Jesus. He was saved at the last minute through faith.
And people who are beggars their whole life, are sick, or are in prison - i.e., no works

Re: Faith and works
Hi there. Sorry to interrupt the thread but the question I would like a clear answer with is that if a person is now 'saved', is there any way that the same person can become 'unsaved' ? Some relevant quotes from my grace thread http://discussions.godandscience.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=39629 &qu...

Re: Omnipotence and Paradox
Well, try this example.
I am now going to tell you exactly what a little known fruit called the 'miracle' fruit tastes like !
Ooops, I can't ! You are going to have to taste the fruit and experience it directly for yourself.
And so it goes with knowing God.

Re: Omnipotence and Paradox
Hi Nox, I think a lot of people get caught up with 'relative' truths and end up finding apparent contradictions. example: Lets say "you are standing still in a room" which is a relative truth. To an observer watching you from the moon "You are moving a high speed" which is also a...
