Re: The Pro' and Con's of Having Exorbitant amounts of Money

Since you are richer than most people in this world, how has your wealth been a hindrance to your spiritual growth? In Zimbabwe, I would be a multi-trillionair ! But It costs a few trillion to buy a loaf of bread :-( Wealth is generally relative to what place you live in. Anyway, I'm more intereste...

Re: The Pro' and Con's of Having Exorbitant amounts of Money

Thanks for your opinions F.L., S.S. and PtheCurious. I'm starting to build a picture.... Mark 10:25 "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Luke 18:25 "For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye...

Re: The Pro' and Con's of Having Exorbitant amounts of Money

Hiya Seekingsanctuary ! I agree with the love and attachment to worldly stuff takes you away from God. I'm mainly interested in discussing the acquisition of LOTS and LOTS of money. e.g. what would happen if you suddenly won $20 mill. ? I can guarantee that it will alter your personality in some way...

Re: The Pro' and Con's of Having Exorbitant amounts of Money

Hiya FL ! Below is an interesting quote I found about money. What do you reckon ? "Money is not something that is morally neutral, a resource to be used in good or bad ways depending solely upon our attitude toward it. Mammon is a power that seeks to dominate us. Behind money are invisible spir...

The Pro' and Con's of Having Exorbitant amounts of Money ?

Con's 'Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction." "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselv...

Re: Gospel Of Judas

Jesus doesn't give a good character assessment of Judas:- Matthew 26:24 "The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born." I was talking about Judas with my wife today. She says, &quo...

Re: Who made the rule that death is the punishment for sin?

Hi outlaw, I think God made the rules. Its called 'what you sow is what you reap'. We all played the game and guess what happened ? We lost - due to all our transgressions. Our grand prize is Death. There is however, a consolation prize. Its called 'eternal life in heaven' ! And guess who holds all ...

Re: Is everyone a Christian by default ?

I was thinking about "what is a Christian" just last night. Wikipedia doesn't give a definitive answer. Jesus embodied the Word of God and, to varying degrees, so does all of humanity. That could make us all Christians. Jesus said "I am" not "I was" or "I will be&q...

Re: Is everyone a Christian by default ?

ok, Now I'm going to argue that Not everyone is a Christian (just to save myself and yourselves some typing - I found some stuff on the net) Is everyone a Christian ? No - The reason being, God's word clearly states in many scriptures, that Jesus Christ and God the Father, only abides in those who b...

Re: Is everyone a Christian by default ?

Ok. My theory is that everyone is a Christian however, not everyone is a saved Christian. and I don't know why. But thanks for all the info. I will keep investigating........ Only someone that proclaims Christ is a Christian. We all have the potential to be Christian from the moment we are born ( n...

Re: Is everyone a Christian by default ?

As Paul. S. said in another thread... "A Christian is anyone that puts His faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, Lord and saviour and the grace we have THROUGH Him. Beyond that is politics and human doctrine." I see many "Christians" that attend church out of habit and many fo...
