Just a fast one to clarify. I was not pushing it as a thought of mine. Nor as a thought of yours or anyone on this board. I just collected some positions which *historically* have been expressed as matters of faith. They have sometimes been considered eretical but that is irrelevant to my point. My ...

If you're ready to concede that those points are also a matter of faith and restrict the discussion to the provable and the observable then I am also ready to concede that the origin of life and the need for a creator is a matter of faith as well. You are claiming that genetic tests used in courts ...

I might agree that computer is not abiogenesis. Howerver, you certainly agree that often one of the argument against abiogenesis is that order cannot emerge from chaos, or II principle of thermodynamics or information cannot emerge from random mutations. I know you never (to me at lest) used these a...

Who ever told you that you should be forbidden to ask who designed the designer? Any IDn supporter I asked at ARN, for example. That is motivated by the fact that ID does not study the designer. GMan you called me liar three times in two posts or so. While I am not interested in what you think of m...

I am in total agreement with GMan that when you break things down to their minute detail, you basically have one of two possibilities for life on earth (or anywhere else in the universe for that matter). Either it came by chance (and again, by chance includes ordered chemical reactions, RM+NS, etc....

I somewhat agree with Angel on the probability (and the fine tuning of the universe) argument that it is rather meaningless, since the argument does not depend or rely on a frame of reference for comparison. We cannot argue the fine tuning of life as we know it unless we know precisely what life wo...

Angel, all you leave is a paper trail of lies, deceit, and chaos... As you wish GMan. Luckly enough there is you who bring light and inspiration to everybody. Again there are only TWO possibilities for the existence of life.. Is this a hard concept for you to understand? 1. Chance assembly of life ...

Well if this isn't the most sugar coated ad hominem I have ever seen.. I suppose more or less as You are a liar Angel... These are not ad hominem. It is just what I think and what you think. I accept your opinions. I expect you accept mine. People can go back and see if you spend half of your time ...

How do you know? Tell me... Do you have a Ph.D. in chemistry?? Well, I have one in math which I believe authorizes me to discuss when probabilities are used properly and when they are not. (If you want to play that game...) What about you? probabilities are used all the time in science... Remember ...

That estimate is (scientific) rubbish. I already discussed a number of times that one cannot use probabilities that way. It is just a way of dressing with nonsensical numbers the argument which goes like abiogenesis is too odd to occur. Nothing more, nothingh less. see http://discussions.godandscien...

Whenever you mean something is bad or poorly designed you are implying it is imperfect. So I asked you to define perfect...you have failed. No. This might be irrelevant to the issue but I cannot agree with what you claimed. I do not need to know what perfect means in order to know when something is...
