Re: Why would a perfect God create an imperfect world?
Thanks for all the feedback... I didn't intend to presuppose an imperfect world. That was largely based on my observation that humans make imperfect choices. I think Jac said it best when he indicated that one would have to defend the assertion that being able to make an imperfect decision indicates...

Re: Why would a perfect God create an imperfect world?
I don't think that God created humans or the world for that matter imperfect Jac, we're obviously capable of making imperfect decisions, so doesn't that indicate we are imperfect? God did not create an imperfect world. It became so due to sin of rebellion, which if God denied happening, would not b...

Re: Why would a perfect God create an imperfect world?
Guys, Thank you for the quick and thorough responses... and I agree with your positions and logic. I happened to come across a response to a very similar question, and I think you would all agree that the two responses are quite complete and accurate. I've copied them below if anyone would care to r...

Why would a perfect God create an imperfect world?
Deuteronomy 32:4 - He is the Rock, his work is perfect : for all his ways are judgement: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. For starters, I am a believer. I wanted to make that clear up front in hope that this would be a discussion focused on helping a fellow believer get thr...

Re: I am a non-believer and I would like my reasoning assess
If by 'source' you mean the same type of causal chain then yes. Let's look at examples of both types of causal chains. By source, I mean the unchanging principle cause from premise 5. Do all simultaneous causal chains' end point to the unchanging principle cause? I was hoping you could illustrate h...

Re: I am a non-believer and I would like my reasoning assess
Essentially ordered causal series using muscle contraction: pick up a stick and hit a ball with it. The ball is caused to move by the stick, which is caused to move by your hand, which is caused to move by your muscles contracting, by the firing of certain neurons, and so on. So at what point does ...

Re: I am a non-believer and I would like my reasoning assess
Byblos,
Thank you for your response. For the sake of the point, can we walk through a couple of examples? Let's do an internal human based function like a muscle contraction, and let's do a natural based function like decomposition. Do they both end up pointing to the same source?
Thanks,
Ben

Re: I am a non-believer and I would like my reasoning assess
Jac, I have recently discovered this website, and I have been following your conversation with NSV with great interest. I am a believer, and I have enjoyed contemplating your premises and logic. May I ask a question, in hopes that you could discuss one of the points/premises a little further? You in...
