I really recommend the Complete Jewish Bible-it is translated right from the Hebrew-most are translations from translations and many were anti-Jewish, you might have to order it.

Honestly I'm not sure if I have Jewish roots, I know that may sound funny but many people I know are finding out their heritage is Jewish but hidden. Since I was saved God has always had me on that path, no one could understand why I was always studying the Tanakh instead of the B"rith Hadashah...

Being Messianic I would have to say the Complete Jewish Bible by David H. Stern, or the Messianic Family Bible and you might check out AENT New Testament by Andrew Gabriel Roth.
