I was just listening to Mike talk about it today.
But I was also thinking that didn't God tell David he would of given him more wives if he wanted? (concerning his affair with bathsheba)

Re: Thanking God FOR everything?
There doesn't seem to be a like button on your post? So *like*. Thanks for the post and link to reviews. It helps. I had brought up Joseph being thankful for being fruitful in his suffering (and not thanking God for the evil etc) to this person. However, they came back with saying 'Who brought Josep...

Thanking God FOR everything?
Long time, no see (and technically being online, still no see ha) I recently borrowed a book 'Power in praise' Merlin Carothers. The same guy who wrote the book about prison and praise. After a few pages, the author seems to promote thanking God for conditions e.g alcoholism. Therefore, concluding G...

Re: Sad News: Dr. Michael Heiser has died!
Him and Charles Stanley get to take the trip together :twodancing:  Yes, Charles was also a giant of explaining Scripture. He packed so much info into a minute of talking, it was a bit like trying to get a sip of water from a firehose! Which is why video that can be re-watched is my favorite ...

Re: Cyclone Gabrielle
I think helicopter maybe at worst part then they could let emergency workers through. We do have a 24 hr medical centre which is close to us as well.
Sucks that our own hospital closed years ago.

Re: Cyclone Gabrielle
Some of Hastings weren't affected at all...I heard people were sitting around in cafes drinking coffee like nothing had happened. It sounded like a war zone here...we had the armed defenders fly in just over our roof to a park across the road bringing supplies. Gisborne was cut off.

I think I heard a Christian speaker once say something like you need to learn to doubt your doubts or something like that

Re: Christian Universalism
I wouldn't think anyone who buys into Universalism also believes in Hell. Nor would they seem to take Jesus' warnings about it seriously. Course, when one feels free to pick and choose whatever theological beliefs they want, like picking their favorite flavor of ice cream - well, they'll not let in...

Re: Christian Universalism
About 8 years ago I stopped calling myself Christian and rather began identifying as Agnostic Theist. However lately I’ve been someone enticed by the ideology of Christian Universalism. It’s come to my attention that the Greek word used in reference to “everlasting” punishment in the New Testament ...
