Re: Is Atheism a Belief System?
I didn't read the link because I don't need to. Here is the answer to the question in the title: A: For a few atheists, their atheism is built around beliefs. Many of these beliefs are grounded in pseudoscience and fueled by anger, vanity or other negative emotions. That's why many of the atheists w...

Re: Do you believe in karma?
Hang on... don't many Christians say things when acts of God happen that it's because God doesn't like how the people are sinning, or shootings because God was removed from schools or something such? Or, if an individual is suffering that God mustn't be happy with them, they must be living a life o...

Re: Do you believe in karma?
Can a person’s actions in this life have any effect on their future existence? What is the Christian view? Karma belongs to the silly religions of India and points East. A Christian who thinks karma is real is seriously confused in his faith. An atheist who thinks karma is real is also confused in ...

Re: Christ's role minimized - analysis
It's normal for unbelievers to discredit the various biblical accounts related to Jesus, or to reinvent him. None of this should surprise you. If a Christian discredits the Bible or demotes Jesus from what he himself claimed to be, you have a right to call such people "so-called Christians".

Re: Conservatism and competition
Thanks for that input, acb. Patriotism is fine with me but ACB seems to be more into jingoism. Audie's post which followed isn't much better, except that it is an excellent antidote to ACB's national chauvinism. Elements in the Book of Acts show early Christians as caring, sharing and empathetic to...

No. Not joking. Atheists are mostly humourless. Has that not already been made clear to you?I hope you're joking.

Go easy on poor Audie. Having one's faith challenged by one of your own is trying enough.RickD wrote:Did three.
Christians should show her some compassion now. Compassion...isn't that what your God promotes?

Re: How to be an atheist
The clip was actually quite funny. Atheists are humorless for the most part when our beliefs are challenged... so the video won't go over well with my fellow believers, as Audie has already demonstrated. Beliefs? Atheists don't have beliefs. Only lack of beliefs. You must be one confused atheist! A...

Re: Grammar question
I hope we never meet in real life. Not because you are smarter or more educated, but because you are so arrogant and cocky in sharing that knowledge of yours. Pathetic. No worries, if we meet on the street, I will slow down so the slipstream from my beamer doesnt knock you off your bicycle. BMWs ar...

Re: Why Humans are Religious
Why are humans the only living thing on Earth that has religion? Because humans are the only species who grasp metaphysic, imagination and wisdom. So we come up with various religions and even some "scientific" theories to explain our observations. The more people buy into a particular id...

At a private Catholic girl's school, Sister Immacolata asks her class "What would you young ladies like to be when you grow up?" Student Mary raises her hand and says "I want to be a prostitute!" Sister Immacolata says "WHAT?" "A prostitute!" Mary says. To whi...

crackpot assumed a lot about me, you didnt.crackpot judged, you offered discussion with an opinion. I didn't judge you. I also understand that you must maintain your position towards me to preserve your pride. So be it. You are mistaken in assuming that you can learn anything useful about Jesus fro...
