Re: Are we really 99 Percent the Same as Chimps?
All mammals have the same type of organs and such, so it stands to reason all mammals are 90% identical.

Re: Dating the Exodus - Egyptian chronology
The Ethiopians are pretty adamant the Queen of Sheba was from Ethiopia. I have my doubts about "Egypt" extending into Sudan. Maybe it did a short distance in antiquity. The Sudanese people look different than Egyptians and Ethiopians/Eritreans. Egyptian wall art shows the distinct differen...

Re: Top 5 ‘Heresies’ of 2016:
I noticed in the past year for sure that I was seeing more and harsher remarks about Pope Francis. I don't go looking for comments, just come across them accidentally in various forums. In times past I almost never encountered a negative remark about the previous ones. From the looks of it, if Franc...

Re: Hells Dominion by B.W. Melvin
Ian McCormack cautions people to be careful about assuming if someone is in hell. That's based on his own experience. One thing he stresses is ministering to the dying even if we think they can't hear, because they can hear in many cases. Along with that, ministering to them until they are gone. Tha...

Wow, I wonder how long it took for the congregation to send him packing. Maybe Bart Ehrman had a talk with him.

Re: what is with the anti-pauline movement?
I recognize a number of the "talking points" that are anti-Paul or attempt to diminish his role/authority in Scripture. Won't get into a big elaboration but I used to be sympathetic to anti-Paul rhetoric. That changed as I was going through our church class a year ago. You see, I had never...

Re: Rob Bell AFTER Hell
As a person who likes to asks questions, its easy to see the same trait in Rob. His ministry is a ministry to undermind the truth of the bible based on questions Of course Jesus asked alot of questions too. However, Rob questions don't actually move people towards the truth. He ultimately leaves pe...

Re: John 6 --- Who is the little boy? And other details
Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I just knew there was more embedded in this story than the immediate obvious words and message. WOW! :esurprised: I firmly believe God uses the natural curiousity I was born with to question deeper and explore further. Not just to help me understand and deepen my...

Re: Technical Help with ITunes, please
If I understand the question correctly it looks like you'll need a Bluetooth capable speaker to receive the signal from your pc. Otherwise iPod is cheapest and most convenient way to bring iTunes into another room. I've got iTunes on my iPhone 5 and even after several "improvement" updates...

John 6 --- Who is the little boy? And other details
I know from prior readings of Paul's work that little details are inserted that normally escape a reader's attention. Same with parallelisms throughout the Bible, especially between OT and NT. These details are put in Scripture for a reason, but the reason isn't apparent without some research on man...

Re: Correct the mistakes
The gospels were written by people who lived in Rome perhaps just a few decades after when Jesus would have been around and the fact that they knew about something like the census - I mean, why wouldn't they know about the census? That's saying Sweeney Todd was a real barber because boats exist. Ch...

Re: The Clinton 'body count'
Not sure what to think. Possibly a long series of coincidences. However given HRC's extremely violent temper and intense hatred its could be possible. Also, the media has known this since the Clinton's were in Arkansas but have smothered any stories. FWIW Bill has an infamous temper but again the me...

Re: Beware Saudi Arabia: Forget Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria
The Saudis have been the main funder of islamic centers in the US, especially on college campuses. Islamic center is synonymous with terror planning and support HQ. Somewhere, somehow the Saudis got labeled as "friends" and congenial Arabs who we could do business with, even trust them as ...

Re: Ehrman–Licona Dialogue on the Historical Reliability of the New Testament
Ehrmann uses his position and knowledge to justify his unbelief. As you mention he obviously knows better but chooses to spread doubt and unbelief among thousands. Maybe by now he actually believes himself, I don't know.
