The coldest night in Texas
A few days after celebrating Chinese New Year, most of Texas endured the coldest winter in recorded history on the night of 2/15. I woke up at 3 am to the sound of gushing water and looked down from bed at (not Noah's Ark) my pair of slippers floating on water. Wading through water to the master bat...

Re: Dr. Mike Heiser on Noah's Flood
DB: So from that perspective, you could say that the extent of the Noahic covenant includes everyone who dwells in the same land that descendants of Noah are dwelling in. Of course, IF the flood of Noah was NOT worldwide, then greater humanity is a mixture of ancient humans not only descended from ...

Re: Dr. Mike Heiser on Noah's Flood
In my opinion, every covenant from Edenic to the New has an extension to all of humanity, thus should be less quick to limit the Noahic Covenant. Based on this hermeneutical model, “all the families of the earth shall be blessed” in the Abrahamic Covenant could be relegated to symbolic and limited r...

Re: Dr. Mike Heiser on Noah's Flood
Would the same interpretation apply to all covenants in the Bible including the New Covenant? Would the same limited application be applied to John 3;16?

Re: Dr. Mike Heiser on Noah's Flood
In the Noahic Covenant, God promised (with two “never again”) not destroy destroy all flesh and the earth with a flood. If it was just regional or local then God would have broken his promise. The immediate context trumps word studies. Furthermore, there are many stories around the world (not just a...
