Re: Can a Christian Be a Darwinist? (debate)
In answer to the question "can a Christian be a Darwinist?" several things come to mind. First, when you accept a label, such as Darwinist, you become accessible to pigeonholing by others into parts of the package others may want you in but you don't buy into. Assigning of intentions is no...

Hi JCSX2,
Thanx - my career choice would be stand-up comic. Unfortunately, usually I'm not very funny. That blows that career.

Maybe "Origins of Life" is a bit of a stretch for the title, but interesting article: Scientists Develop New Computational Method To Investigate Origin Of Life Scientists at Penn State have developed a new computational method that they say will help them to understand how life began on Ea...

Hi Kurieuo,
Always a pleasure to discuss things with you. There is plenty of room for divergent opinions respectfully presented as they have been.

Re: Ultimate "blind" proof of Darwinian Evolution
Hi Zoegirl - great post. Very honest and convincing argument. Why didn't those bacteria change more over that many generations? I don't know - I would guess no selection pressure. Although I, like you, want to see the very best evidence; experiments like that one can easily be interpreted either way...

Hi Kurieuo, >>it does believe there is nothing unconstitutional about voluntarily discussing the scientific theory of design in the classroom. In addition, the Institute opposes efforts to persecute individual teachers who may wish to discuss the scientific debate over design in an objective and ped...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Hi Kurieou, >>His mind was made up from the get go<< It's frequently a danger to assign intent - to the extent that dispute counsellors spend significant time on recommending that that tactic be thrown out. We simply don't know what Jones's attitude was before the case started. In defending your own...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Hi Gerald, Based on the info you posted, it does appear that judges frequently do - and are even expected to - use the terminology suggested to them in official briefs given to them by attorneys from both sides. So it appears to me that what is plagiarism in school is considered completely acceptabl...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Good post Hman, I fully endorse your every word. What we are all dealing with here is the worldview we are starting with. The religion one follows during life appears overwhelmingly determined by the cultural/milieu/society/family one is born into. That religious person is an atheist for every other...

Hi Kurieou,
Indeed I found it. Buckingham and Bonsell are indeed perjurors but Judge Jones is unquestionably a plaigarist.
What a moron! How could he expect not to be discovered!
(He still made the right decision and the ACLU was quite eloquent)

Hi Kurieou,
To me the Wedge strategy is obvious in its anti-scientific interests, which in this case are overwhelmingly religious. You see it very differently than I do and I think your worldview is preventing you from seeing the truth. I know mine is.
