Hi FL,
For sure artistic license. I just tho't it was interesting that an artist of that time period would want to put the three of them together.

Re: Ultimate "blind" proof of Darwinian Evolution
Hi Zoegirl, As I think you have pointed out, in a single generation - or three generations, assuming most of us will get to see an average of three generations in our lifetimes - not enough time passes for changes to be obvious. Therefore, you have to look into the past. I'm sure you're aware of the...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Hi Kurieuo, I googled it - haven't found yet what you are speaking of but will look again. I did find evidence that he responded to claims that he was a liberal activist by his rebuttal: If you look at public polls in the United States, at any given time a significant percentage of Americans believe...

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
>>judges probably know very little about science<<
Everybody in that courtroom got an impressive primer on science, including the judge - enough to convince him ID was basically a religious proposition and that it wasn't science.

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Hi Gman, If you'll look closely, you'll see that I never said Judge Jones was a scientist. And Stephen J. Gould was a staunch defender of evolution, including what you are calling macroevolution....and...evolution has stood up to vigorous scientific testing for 150 years - sometimes being refined, b...

Re: Ultimate "blind" proof of Darwinian Evolution
Hi Mr. McGrew, About blind cave fish - interesting that they not only lose their eyesight due to lack of selection pressure but their pigmentation. No need to have a color that benefits survival or mate-attraction skills if there is not enough light to be seen. Yet the brain space is filled in by so...

Hi Gman, >>What is your evidence for macroevolution?<< Transitional fossils? Opposable thumbs? DNA relics of genes leaving a family tree? >>Why ID isn't scientific?<< After several weeks of listening to expert testimony under oath, a judge said it wasn't science - Judge Jones, Dover trial. DB

Re: ID...why isn't it religion?
Hi Hman, Very good post. I have been listening to an audio about fossilized relics in DNA. There are undoubtedly thousands of them, where a useful gene slowly falls into phenotypic disuse while being "selected out." The gene eventually gathers mutations which don't affect the phenotype but...

Following Evolution in Individual Genes
The fascinating abstract below is a good example of the depth of knowledge one needs in order to follow the more complicated parts of genes and evolution - and this is an extremely simplified summary of the whole presentation: Surprising Details Of Evolution Of Protein Translation Revealed ScienceDa...

Re: Ultimate "blind" proof of Darwinian Evolution
Embryological development is a cascade of changes that occur in harmony with each other, directed by the conductor (the genetic code). Occasionally, however, a trumpet player sneezes, a drummer drops his pounder, a violinist breaks a string, or a trombonist has a stroke. Depending on how badly that ...

Re: Ultimate "blind" proof of Darwinian Evolution
I think "admit" is not the appropriate word. There was no crime committed. Errors in development occur frequently - errors that are not coded in the genes. Some of the more common congenital heart abnormalities fall into this category - septal defects, tetralogy, etc.

More seriously, there probably was no mutation here - just an error in embryological development.
