Re: The two laws at work in our Minds.

I don't think it has to do with the 'mortal nature'. Sinful desires originate in the spirit. 'Flesh' ( sarx ) is used as a metaphor for human weakness in general. Philippians 3:3 For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no co...

Re:

.. The following words were written after the Men's fall in Eden. Exodus 20:3-6 3 "You shall have no other gods before me. 4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or...

The two laws at work in our Minds.

Turgonian: I believe that men have free will to go either way. The shining example of this is men's fall in Eden. In Eden, Men were allowed to choose either fruits on the tree of life or those on the tree of knowledge. I think because of the mortal nature of our flesh - the pleasures and sins of fle...

Re: the Will

No one is too sinful to be forgiven. God will have mercy upon whom He will have mercy. It's not that some people are too sinful. Jesus's atoning blood would be enough for them. But somehow, God works faith in a number of people, and leaves others behind. I trust He has reasons for that, because He ...

Two schools of thought

Vash, If you recall the parable of the sower. Some of the seed was sewn on stony ground. These are people whose hearts have been hardened and not willing to even listen. Its like when you try to share the Gospel with them, although they agreed to listen, they act like you are wasting their time. Th...

:)

If my memory serves, there is at least one kind of sin that God will not forgive: blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Re: the Will

So it is man who first must admit hes done wrong and it is heim who must try to turn? Will God help only if he decides so or will God try to show him and lead him onto the right path? Hm.. probably once a man decides to be evil and decides temptation is the right way, God will give it to him., But ...

the Will

How about drug addicts or smokers? The smokers seem to have choice to continue smoking or abstaining themselves from smoking. If they choose the former one, they certainly feel happier than when they choose the latter one. It just means that the smokers who fail in abstainence are tempted away to go...

Things get better but still bore-some so much.

Oriental, I wonder if the HK girl manager is finding it the same way as you are and it isn't easy for her either? It all sounds quite awkward for you. Do you have to work in the mainland, or could you move back to HK and find a happier placement there? Mind you, it is quite a challenge to accept an...

Alas

Hi, Oriental I understand your problem. I went through something similar and it is not enjoyable. My advice would be: do not get complacent with the situation. There is a reason why you are there and it will become obvious shortly. In the meantime, try to understand them and earn their trust. They'...

Should I be happy or unhappy?

I needn't work hard in my work because I am just a thing that the employer has bought for my professional qualification. The coworkers in Beijing are often accused of doing the job on listing matters but they are not professionally qualified. The accusers include the investment bankers, lawyers, au...

Re: Quite terrible culture in China that shatters myths.

Ok, I didn't know that... But aren't the communists taxing the people of HK in some way or providing government services such as education and defense? As regards the military force, communists send liberation army to station in HK for defense. As regards the political systems, HK allows multi-part...

Quite terrible culture in China that shatters myths.

Oriental Thanks for the info... I'm pretty familiar with Hong Kong and China and realize the difference between the two.. However, I'm not too sure how Hong Kong is being governed now under the communist rule since it became part of mainline China in 1997. After 1997. the Communist government has b...

It's miserable I can tell.

Yes and I can tell people right here may not know well the background. Actually I was born in Hong Kong - a city of China. HK has been colony of British government for a hundred year until its sovereignty handed over back to China in July 1997. The economy and social condition in HK is entirely dif...

Versions of bibles

I haven't read a lot of different versions of bibles than NIV and another one that uses concise and simple English; the latter one was teaching materials when I was a student. Do versions of bibles other than NIV bear statements reminding people of the uncertainty in translation? It looks NIV versio...
