How about a little bit of honesty!
Hello all, back again after a hectic few months on the political campaign trail. After surviving on only a few hours sleep per night I can finally relax a bit for a while. I just thought I would relate something that occurred during my time of working during the Victorian State election period. Alth...

Setting kids straight
We need to remember also that there are many wonderful kind caring kids out there too! There are mainly just a handful of real problem kids in all schools. The rest could quite easily be brought into line with the proper guidance. Just count how many well behaved kids there are in a class compared t...

Re: Any teachers on this board?
Hi Just wondering if there are any other teachers on this board? How do you find working with spoilt, arrogant, rude, nasty teenagers? A breath of fresh air? Or do you lose all faith in humanity? Silvertusk Although I myself am not a teacher, my friend is, and tonight we were discussing exactly wha...

Two urgent prayer requests
Sincere thankyou to everyone for their prayers! :D It rained today, but it was not enough to make a difference just yet. Most of the rivers in the south east of Australia are perilously low, and some may never recover. One river in Victoria has only 18% water in it and that wont last during summer! ...

 I'm shocked. I hope your life will be fruitful in Christ's power and the wounds will heal. You gave me a reminder not to take a sheltered life for granted...and not to assume I have any right to discuss the Problem of Pain... May God bless you and show you His love! Thanks for your kind rem...

Re: Gods time
Could someone set me right sbout this, but isn't there some reference in the Bible regarding everything man knows about science being wrong? Does this also mean the possibility that our interpretation of time and theories concerned with it are wrong? Anyway I am no scientist. In fact the world woul...

Re: How do you know that God has heard your prayer?
I read a passage of the Bible every night and pray. I pray in my head - I don't say anything out loud incase someone hears me, but I'm never sure that God has heard. How do you tell? Secondly, Is it important to kneel down or pray with your hands together? I remember I used to pray with my hands to...

I totally agree with the topic of this thread, but I took some issue with the last sentence. I feel very itchy about political correctness. All too often, 'acceptance of one's beliefs' means you should refrain from giving any value judgement of others' beliefs. You should accept those beliefs are a...

Thanks for setting me right about the Bible verse! You're welcome. ;) I am very new to this kind of thing. Even though I became a Christian many years ago because of the domestic situation I was in I couldn't grow very far ( I wasnt allowed to have a Bible). That's tough... Can you tell us why not?...

Re: The amazing way God works.
I often reflect on all different events in society and how their is a reason for it. One I thought of was the holocaust of the Jews. I think (and please correct me if I am wrong) that was meant to happen. In the context that it was the catalyst for something far greater. The birth of the state of I...

I'm sorry to hear that Lizard.. The problem is that so many people can be blinded by all these cute commercials that they show on TV. They make it so appealing and such a FUN and cool thing to do and believe in... I will pray for your mother, G - Gman, I am not sure about the commercials that you r...

Re: Earth Center of Universe...
Ok, i've tried searching for a topic about this, but after a few pages, i got lazy. :P I keep seeing others, even believers (or at least so-called) stating, "The Bible says that, the earth is the center of the universe." I'm pretty sure the Bible does not speak of such a thing, and i also...

Michelle, I see your point, and I would agree that in some cases, sterilization is the best thing, with the express permission from both parents if both are still alive. It's different from abortion. However, your use of Matthew 7:1-6 is incorrect and out of context. Jesus warned people against try...

Re: Christian politics
While I agree with you in principle that Gods law should be entertwined with state law, unfortunately past experience has shown the consequences of what can occur when it does. Maybe the reason for this is seen from the old saying regarding absolute power corrupting. Ah, God still isn't corrupt. :)...
