I'm not sure if I'm reading a part of history here or 2000 Leagues Under the Sea. When we remember that we believe in stories about the sea being divided, about the sun and moon stopping in the skies, about a tower that reaches to heaven, about a flood that covered the earth, about a man who died a...

God is NOT just Spirit
It is almost universally believed by the evangelical world that God is a spirit, and that is all. The most used scripture in defense of this position is John 4:24 Jhn 4:24 God is Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. I am here to challenge all who believe that ...

When the BoM was written was it contemplated (by JS and the others at the top) that the events described in the BoM occurred mainly in a small area of central america?....or was such blasphemous and was it accepted that much of what is described occurred in New England? The Book of Mormon was writt...

Noah had a fog light? What? The Book of Mormon tells the story of a family who left Mesopotamia at the time of the confounding of languages at the tower of Babel. This family built peculiar barges and were carried across the ocean by the power of God. Because these barges were built to sustain subm...

I would ask that we choose only one topic to debate at a time, because I have found that is the best way to not skip over any details. Thank You. I have chosen to only adress the first subject that was responed to. Sargon, I'm sorry, but using the Garden of Eden or Noah's ark as examples of no evid...

My first question will be, if a religious book has no historical or archaeological evidence to back it up does that in itself leave enough of a whole in the religion to not believe it?...Without determining that these places actually existed can we except that these things happened? No! Not at all....

Why do you think human spirits are omnipresent? Spirit and body form a unity... I dont. But I also dont believe that God is omnipresent in the same way that you probably do. I am curious as to what you believe the nature of God's omnipresence is. Is he physically everywhere at once? Mentally? Is it...

As we've agreed earlier to limit this discussion to the Bible in terms of its authority, you'll need to do more than throw out a concept or question. You'll need to back it up and show how the Bible supports it. So do you have a Biblical basis for your suggestions or questions? Canuckster, I am not...

Then what is the purpose of giving us bodies if we are already not omnipresent nor omniscient? Are you suggesting that our spirits actually have mass, or that they fill a specific and determined volume? If so, are they matter? Are our spirits of a different nature than God? How do we know one way or...

Turgonian, You have touched on a very interesting topic. So you say that because we have a body, God must have a body? Because if God doesn't have it, then it is superfluous and/or downright annoying for every being in the whole universe? Yes, I think I am. Am I wrong in my understanding that if God...

Sargon, Those are good questions. I'd note the following. 1. The question of authority is precisely why I asked you earlier if you were prepared to accept the authority of the Bible in this regard. You indicated you were. Whether that was just for the purposes of this discussion or not, I dont know...

Let us pretend that I am an evangelical Christian. I have no intention of a biblical debate about the nature of God. Let us pretend that I believe that God is a spirit. Let us pretend that I believe that if God had a body he would be limited in some way by it, and could not be considered God. Is tha...
