I am curious what knids of things they taught in the philosophy of Religion class. I doubt if I would agree. But I migt with some things. We're not taught to believe in one thing. My teacher is Catholic after all, and she's not going to be pressuring me to be atheist. :lol: We just study various di...

Anti-atheist?

I know that there's a lot of "Christians suck", "They caused every war" going about, and that's wrong. Most of these people don't know what they're talking about. But I'm concerned that Christians are being anti-atheist... they're not making completely unfounded remarks, but I ju...

why does life actually need an explanation? Surely the 'explanation' is just this: do as you would be done by.

It's not that simple, but it's the jist of humanism.

Choosing a Faith

Unless you've been a Christian/Jew/Muslim all your life, how did you decide that it was the right religion for you? There are so many, and you'll never be able to prove which is 'right'. If I did, suddenly, feel the need for spiritual guidance I'd probably go with a Godless religion. I don't think t...

Darwin learned taxidermy from John Edmonstone, a freed black slave who told him exciting tales of the South American rainforest. Later, in The Descent of Man, he used this experience as evidence that "Negroes and Europeans" were closely related despite superficial differences in appearance...

@Zoe-

How does starting the process not mean he was intimately involved? Surely he would have planned evolution, and what creatures would evolve.

He would have 'intimately' planned all the directions evolution would take. It's not simple...

Evolution and God does work

Although I don't have a faith or believe in a God, I think that evolution can work with the existence of God. I read something recently that said that evolution is against Christianity. (an article on Pokemon being immoral :lol: ) However, in my opinion, evolution does not go against Christianity un...
