Yes, a beautiful story indeed I still don't see it; if the Father is going to forgive no matter what, then what is the point of confession? Please, no more Bible stories; I am not familiar with it yet, although I would like to be, it sounds like a wonderful book I guess my reply to this is what is ...

Re: What difference
If my children were disobedient, I would forgive them no matter how bad they acted, and never asked for forgiveness. If God is as all loving as many claim He is, then why confess? The same is with God.. Even though we were disobedient, God still loves us.. We confess our sins if we want to draw clo...

Re: What difference
Well then, that is great news! I am still a bit confused... what difference then does it make? Christians are so fanatical about conversion, but Jesus already paid, so why even bother? Yes, but now we need to accept God's sacrifice for us and confess our sins... Perhaps this article will clairify t...

Re: What difference
So God is suppose to reject us because of this? No, because He has sanctified us through Christ.. This is why Christ had to die for our sins.. He knows we are imperfect... Here is another way to look at it.. Think of our sin roaring down the tracks (like a train) about ready to plow into you. And j...

Re: What difference
What's there to forgive in the first place? Our sin... Think of it this way... Are you implying that we are perfect and that we love our neighbor 100 percent of the time? Anything non-loving is sin... Prejudice against other races is sin, falsely accusing someone is sin, etc.. I can attest to you m...

Re: Joy in Faith
Is the existence of God true? Is creationism true or, if it is true, is the God in such existence the same as the God in bible so that salvation is true? I guess that there is plenty of materials on this website you'd better read them first. . Yes, I have just started reading up on this site's page...

Re: What difference
Good works? What about Buddhism, where the point is to empty all emotions and desires? There wouldn't need to be a savior then? Johnny, Basically Buddha taught, "You yourself must make the effort." As you yourself have stated, there is no right or wrong and there is no creator God which b...

Re: A truth, not merely a method
(1) no matter what choices I pick for any religions, (2) the truth is always there, and interestingly, (3) the truth is not always a result of "feeling good", and (4) irony of it all, "not feeling good" is simply a bell, alarming me to know and accept that, it is a concerte trut...

Interesting questions. Interesting that you bring up losing desire. One thing that I find a great comfort in my God is that He created such wonderful things. He created all of the things we enjoy in life. Things we desire, such as food, companionship, intimacy, sex, creating. I know many people thi...

Ecclesiastes
Hello all. I've recently just joined this forum. For the first time in my life, I have read a Bible :) (I am Buddhist) Something caught my attention... The Book of Ecclesiastes; it seems so depressing by far. I am still finishing up and I am enjoying the writer's word (they are significant because t...

Let me give you a real life example of what i mean. Very often in my current situation, i have money troubles. I am struggling a lot right now and it is very frustrating. But, even when it is really bad, i don't care. What's the worst that will happen to me? I die poor and then...go to heaven. Does...

Re: Grief = happiness = Christianity but not other religions
Hi, I think I am not quite welcome given some threads I've posted.. but thank you if i am allowed to say something because the question is interesting. I only know Christian faith more than other religions; so what I can say is always coming from bible so you would find I am biased. I know very lit...
