Re: If a Begin requires a Beginner...

On the rejection of organized religion. It is a bit off topic so please indulge me as I state my opinion. I think it is a mistake to believe or teach that Jesus Christ nullified or rejected organized religion. It is more correct to say He rejected abberant teaching and the traditions of men. We know...

Re: is it deceptive for God to create with age/ why?

What's your opinion about the whole geocentric solar system? First I would like to address the issue of geocentrism and the history of the Catholic Church and afterward specific points you post which I object to. Firstly, I would like to say that I am considered protestant in my views but I strongl...

Re: is it deceptive for God to create with age/ why?

Are you aware that the church which persecuted Galileo, has never said it was wrong nor has it retracted its position? (at least according to all accounts which I have read)

I will respond more fully, later when I have time.

Re:

So in short, Forum Monk, I very strongly disagree with your analysis. Your vision is simply that of a bigger person molding and manipulating things just as we do. That is far too mundane a vision of the creator. That's a beautiful image, BeGood... and I can visualize it. I don't know if my image of...

Re:

Please read some chapters of Yada Yahweh, and you will see that he backs up his conclusion with dictionaries and the like. I'm not willing to put Yada Yahweh aside because I found truth on it, my friend. I will read some more of it when I get the chance. In any case, it should be interesting to und...

I think we can get bibles in just about any language nowadays, can't we? Check this out. http://www.wycliffe.org  Hi FFC, For some reason, I assumed L/T was trying to read an english bible translation. It did not occur to me until a week after my post that, of course the Bible has been transla...

You've received a response to the claim that ordinals always mean 24 hours and been shown with verses referenced that that claim is false. Do you have a rebuttal to that or do you accept that that claim is not substantiated? The claim of many that ordinals does not always mean ordinary days, in my ...

The onus is on you then to present an example of the word used in the manner you propose. The sources I have examined indicate that yom is the proper word if in fact the intent of God and Moses was more than a 24 hour time period. (Addressed to Canuckster) Here is your original post: Assume for the...

The point of the exercise was to show that other words exist in hebrew which define periods of time. Yom (or yown or ywm) is not the only one. I have seen several mentions that somehow the hebrew language is incapable of expressing ideas, especially when translated into "english". I comple...

My advice to you is bow out of the conversation as soon as possible. But if you think that is bad advice, be aware you are going to have a tough time defending against the atheists resources unless you are fully equipt for such a battle. You need to be on top of historical resources as well as scrip...

That is my perspective. sandy_mcd, your perspective is a rote endorement sans exegesis. Can you support your view from scriptural context? It seems only logical to use units known at the time of writing. Many (most?) archaeological papers of today presumably use modern units rather than the contemp...

Re: evolution and science vs God

I'm confused. If you accept C-14 dating to some extent, why did you post all these links arguing against its reliability over a time frame in which you think it works? I still believe C14 will be discarded except when quick ball-park datings will be requested. (C14 is more economical than other rad...

This illusionist isn't really doing the things he/she is purporting to do. (although I am still fascinated by the processes of misdirection and still like the illusion). There is scriptural support for the idea, mankind is under a great delusion and is not seeing reality. Man would do well to remem...
