While I have some serious issues with the YEC position and some of how it is promoted I don't necessarily believe that one has to concede that God is a deceiver to take a YEC position. If you believe it you should be able to explain it. Why do think being a YEC does not require you to believe it? L...

Re: the case against evolution

i am well aware that other threads have posted similar points but i would like to put them in one spot to demonstrate why evolution (whether secular or theistic) is impossible. 1. to state the obvious, the Bible does not use or refer to the evolutionary process. all references are point to God as c...

I am not an old earth creationist. I am not a young earth creationist. I do not believe God deceived us. So where does that leave us? I don't have the benefit of knowing your history so I can't say. You have said what you are not but what do you believe about how old the earth is? L

Actually, you're the one who appears to be presenting God in the negative sense as a deceiver so I believe it is your responsibility to demonstrate your claim. If I knew what God had hidden that would explain it all then it would no longer be hidden then, would it? ;) What would be sufficient for y...

Re: is it deceptive for God to create with age/ why?

...Whilst I agree with you that some things need to be created "with age" to make it all work it is fallacious to extend that to everything that exists. So God sometimes does it one way and sometimes another, and some in their wisdom are able to discern the difference? I think God is cons...

I think your post catches some of the conflict in this area. God is not a deceiver in the negative sense of that word, but there certainly are consistent themes within Scripture that show that God chooses to hide things and not make them evident. I tend to believe that this is in the area of Spirit...

Re: is it deceptive for God to create with age/ why?

it was mentioned that creation with age would be a deceptive practice but i disagree. we know that to be practical and to sustain life, that many things had to be created with age: the sun, moon, stars, original species, adam and eve etc. what doyou think? and why? I am new here and have been consi...
