Re: The Trinity, tradition or scripture?
Jesus tells us what the Holy Spirit is. We have in the Bible two parallel teachings of the same subject given by Jesus Himself, one in Matthew and one in Luke. Luk 12:11 And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend y...

Re: going to hell?
Hi B. W. , Sorry to hear about your lost. Such a hard thing to live through! I know because I see it all the time. Have you witnessed death? Have you spoken with hospice workers, nurses who have? Those who have report feeling, sensing, or even seeing the spiritual parts of a person, some may call s...

Hi Jen, Yes, I too do not agree 100% with all of Dr. Martins works. However, he does have some really nice work. I like to review his material and pick out the meat from the bones. Hey B.W. I hope you don't think I'm picking on you in any way. I too see some meat in your work too, you are re...

Re: Truth vs. the lie
Part 2 Entering the land of Canaan (west of Jordan) was also a symbol of final spiritual salvation. The author of Hebrews recognized that Israel's crossing of the River Jordan under Joshua (and the taking of the land of Canaan) was typical of Christians obtaining their true "rest" in the ...

Hey B.W. maybe this will help you understand the parable of Lazarus and the Rich man. The Real Meaning of Lazarus and the Rich Man By Ernest L. Martin, Ph. D., 1984 This section of Scripture has been more misunderstood by students of the Bible than many other parts of the divine revelation. There i...

Hi B.W., Adversus Haereses, Book V, Chapter 31 —- in context -- “The preservation of our bodies is confirmed by the resurrection and ascension of Christ: the souls of the saints during the intermediate period are in a state of expectation of that time when they shall receive their perfect and consu...

Re: believing in Christ
I agree Zoegirl, nothing I do counts as anything towards my salvation. The forgiveness of sin is a gift from God. The following of Jesus is a command, and the fruit of our walk with him will be tested by fire.

Silvertusk stated: We die. Our spirit (life) goes back to God, our soul goes to sleep and our Bodies decay. In a blink of an eye to us it is Judgement day (although it may be 100s to millions of years in the future). New imperishable bodies are created for us and are joined with our wakened souls an...

Wow, Fortigurn, you're a Christdelphian? I have to admit I'm not well versed in your theology? However, I do not agree that Satan is a myth! No disrespect intended!
