Re: Why does God exist?

I apologize for the tardiness of this reply. I spend most of my time contributing when I am at work, and it's been pretty busy since holidays are approaching. I see not only do I have to watch every word I say that it may be misconstrued or misunderstood, but I also have to walk on eggshells with yo...

Re: Why does God exist?

So let's not get bogged down by semantics; these topics are far too complicated to do that. It is not my style to use specific language to convey a hidden meaning nor is it my style to score cheap points by word use or implication. If I want to say something it will be explicitly said. If you do th...

Re: Evolution occuring in my classroom?

godslanguage,

If I explain to you the evolution of the bacteria flagellum, would you then repudiate intelligent design? (if at the very least to this IC argument?)

Now, before you think your initial reaction to this response through - just think about the question, honestly, for a moment.

Much to chew on with regards to your latest, Byblos. I'll respond as soon as I can (with the manner and time needed to adequately address the points made).

Re: Why does God exist?

No... Again you are dictating to us... You are stating comments like the following: "We either have free-will, or we do not. You can't have it both ways." Seems like your mind is already made up on what free-will is. Which is why I asked you a question about it... That is not a dictation ...

Re: Evolution occuring in my classroom?

*scratches head* I think my point was misunderstood. The cell phone analogy wasn't used to represent biological systems (that would be a false comparison if only for the fact that a cell phone isn't a living system capable of things like reproduction).. it was only used to represent the method of ab...

Re: Why does God exist?

No, not at all. I guess i'm just trying to say that the emphasis should be on what God does and not ourselves. For instance we couldn't even begin to believe or even want to believe unless God opened our eyes to His truth. Do you know what I mean? It's the whole "no man comes unto me unless th...

Re: Why does God exist?

You avoided sharing how or why my view is warped or how I've been mislead. You quoted something I said that you obviously did not agree with or took exception to and added nothing.. (thanks) I'm not implying in anyway I have a handle on Christianity - I am providing my understanding of it, which you...

Re: Why does God exist?

Hello FFC,

Can you please expound on what you responded? I am not sure I follow. Are you suggesting it makes no difference at all whether one believes or accepts Jesus Christ or Christian doctine?

Re: Why does God exist?

I think I've already addressed that in my posts in this thread... you've simply avoided sharing anything that might correct me or have explained what you meant in your initial response - instead you 'shot me down' in telling me my view is warped and I've been somehow mislead... Do enlighten me. I on...

My thoughts exactly...

Perhaps it depends on how you choose to interpret Christianity.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)

Re: Why does God exist?

I would say you have a very warped view of Christianity if you say that we are forced to choose a relationship with Jesus that ensures us into an afterlife. If that is what you believe, you have been mislead. Nothing is "forced" in Christianity.. Nothing totally ensures a life with Christ...

Re: Evolution occuring in my classroom?

Therefore, in whichever way you would like to form analogies to derive biological conclusions, it happens to be a waste of time since IC and CSI are not interchangeable, they work together just like any other goal-directed mechanism to achieve a particular goal-intended function. This entire concep...

Re: Why does God exist?

Sorry for such a delayed response - I've recently moved and things have been hectic in the past few days to say the least... First I did not mention anything about 'parallel' universes as in modal realism (all possible universes existing in parallel or concurrently) because that, to me at least, sti...
