Re: The Fall of Man
You and I have very different views of the word Justice. You imply I am judging God whereas I see it as the opposite. I admit I do not know what perfect Justice is and do not believe humans capable of such knowledge. I have no real conception of what God is preparing but I agree with you that it wil...

Re: The Fall of Man
Can pedophiles around children use this excuse? No, I agree they can not use this excuse. But if I knowing place a pedophile in a situation where he has children available to him then I am setting the children up and thus I am also guilty. Even in this example the pedophile would be guilty, there i...

Re: The Fall of Man
First of all let me say I can somewhat understand your circumstances. My mother did not have alzheimer disease but after a stroke was little more than a body lying in a bed in a nursing home. Also, my band plays every Tuesday night at one of our local nursing homes and I have watched a number of ind...

Re: The Fall of Man
First of all, no matter how the New Testament came to be, I have choosen to believe the major themes of it. I do believe that there is a validity to the New Testament but again I have simply said it is not a perfect book with no errors, that just seems evident to me as per my previous examples of ob...

Re: The Fall of Man
I have no ideal on the verse to which you refer. I was referring to the Gospels which Mark was written about 40 or so years after Jesus. Some of Paul's writing might predate this since they were the earliest we have. I have to admit I am much more familiar with the Gospels because they are the close...

Re: The Fall of Man
I mostly recently read the information in Ehrman's book, Misquoting Jesus, but there are many books written on the history of the Bible. Ehrman makes numerous references to historical scholars such as Richard Simon's book in 1689, A Critical History of the Text of the New Testament and Richard Bentl...

Re: The Fall of Man
I am back on my old computer. My new computer blew a hard drive. I will agree totally with one of your statements JCSx2, for me life without God is empty. I would contend that most nonbelievers do not choose to not believe because they do not want to love God, but because they feel the whole ideal o...

Re: The Fall of Man
I'm just saying it would be nice if Jesus had written the New Testament and several Roman and Greek officicals at the time documented it. Also, I did not see any of events which you described. It seems God only did miracles in that particular time and unless you believe the Virgin Mary appears to pe...

Re: The Fall of Man
Yes, I can get long winded. I have come to believe from my experiences that there are many unconscious influences in our lives. Do not mistake me, I believe we are responsible for our actions but I am simple saying there are many unconscious factors that make us who we are. I have seen in my counsel...

Re: The Fall of Man
I plead ignorance on which verses in the Bible are completely valid and which are not. I believe the overall message of Jesus because it is consitent across the Gospels even though specific passages made not have been actually said by him. Also, it works for me. As for a "witnessing" I pro...

Re: The Fall of Man
You seem to be saying that God will open their hearts but obvious many Hindus who have heard of Christ have no interest whatever is changing from the religion of their culture, parents, and childhood just as most Christians have no interest in changing to becoming a Hindu. I am simply saying I belie...

Re: The Fall of Man
So you are saying if Hindu person happened to hear a foreign missionary demeaning another Hindu saying he is maybe a subhuman animal but then mentioning Jesus and telling him the story, then since this person has heard about Jesus even though by an insincere bigot, he is doomed? This person now has ...

Re: The Fall of Man
I do not mean to imply that one is not intellectual who accept the Bible as a flawless. I simply do not understand how they can do this after reviewing the history of the Bible. I will readily admit that I do not know what to accept or not accept. Therefore, I do not simply throw out things I don't ...
