Re: Christians who committ suicide
I have always wondered about someone who has given their life to Christ and later on commits suicide. Is this forgivable in God's eyes? I have to ask - phiver4 - are you personally thinking of such a course for yourself or known someone who has? - - - B.W. Me? not at all. I have personally known pe...

Re: Near Death Experiences?
Thank you very much B.W. for sharing your experience, yours is the first I have heard described in that way, to be in God's completely pure presence. That definatley moved me. I had no idea I would get so many responses from my initial post and I too hesitated because I was not sure of the feedback....

Re: Near Death Experiences?
Well, we already know from the Bible that consciousness continues after death...no news there. As for near death experiences, they are real. They happen. My wife is a nurse and a friend of mine is an anesthesiologist. Both could tell you stories about near death patients. I see this as something li...

Near Death Experiences?
I came across a website, http://www.near-death.com/evidence , that claims scientific evidence for survival of consciousness after death. I know this is nothing new but I could not find this issue addressed here or maybe I did not look hard enough. The site makes the claim that Paul describes this ty...

Re: the need for a bible
Canuckster, Thank you very much for responding so quickly to me. You wrote: "I encourage you to continue to pursue and work this out. I will confess it is difficult. It was much easier as a young Christian for me to accept things uncritically. More education and especially addressing the textua...

Re: the need for a bible
Canuckster, I have spent a lot of time lately studying and looking for the answers to many of the more pressing questions and issues the skeptics pose in relation to the accuracy of the Bible. I am doing this to satisfy my own self in order to feel "safe" in what the Bible teaches. I want ...

Re: Question on Baptism
So you don't think we should follow the example of Jesus and be baptised with water? Jesus Himself knew that it was necessary, so He Himself was baptized with water. I think that it is important as an outward profession of your faith but not a requirement for Salvation because of all the reasons an...

Re: Was Christ's resurrection in 3 days prophecized?
There are a bunch. So just off the top of my head here are a few. Abraham and Isaac - God said kill son, at that moment son was dead in Abrahams eyes, three days journey they angel stopped him. Isaac is an alusion to Christ. Also Isaac not seen until his bride comes, foreshadow of rature. We don't ...

Re: Was Christ's resurrection in 3 days prophecized?
[ I always thought that Paul was speaking of Christ's own self proclamation that he would suffer, die and rise again. Could he be speaking about the apostles writings?[/quote] I don't think those are the Scriptures that Paul is referring to because wouldn't the other apostle's writings still be a wo...

Was Christ's resurrection in 3 days prophecized?
The following verses point to a prophecy about Jesus' rising from the dead in 3 days, however there is no O.T. prophecy on this. "Thus it is written that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day" (Luke 24:47). The apostle Paul also alleged that the scriptures had...

Re: LOST again!??!???? < Strong doubting of my Salvation!
Arthur, Amen to what JCSX2 shared with you! I was in your situation for years, expressing the same doubt and fears and frustrations. I went through it all, the guilt from sin that kept me from God and feeling that I was not worthy of Him because I kept falling into the same sin. I even came to doubt...
