Re: the need for a bible
Sleep, I think scripture makes the case just as I stated it. I take the scripture literal in most cases, in fact in all cases except where it is obvious that I should not. But you have to be real careful. Like the Olivet discourse is in scripture in two places. But they are actually two different ta...

Re: Another challenge to Darwinists
Sleep, Within a species the genes can and do make for a wide variety of adaptation. The color of fur, the length of an ear, etc. But this is limited to a mix of genes that are already there in the population of a species. A mutation could also happen but these are limited to a single or double neucl...

Re: the need for a bible
Sleep, Sorry about that. I did not intend to question your faith. I was trying to share some of my experiences. The issue about judgement is not understood and probably never will be. There are some clues to the process and I will share my understanding of them. We are born into a sinfull world and ...

Re: Another challenge to Darwinists
Sleep, Canuckster and I feel the same way about evolution. He stated it well. There is an edge where the processes of evolution won't allow what we see. Now I may have a dfferent point at which I draw the line than with Canuckster. I would draw the line where Michael Behe draws it. In his book "...

Re: the need for a bible
Almost nobody knows about the personal life of Newton. It really does not matter. Your response speaks volumes. I would recommend you slow down and absorb what you have already been exposed to. Try talking to God, it may feel real weird at first, I know I had a very hard time. It gets easier every t...

Sleep,
I was in college for ten years, get a grip. A simple I don't know is so easy for me. Why must you go off on a tangent? Take a deep breath and relax. You have until your life ends to figure this out.

Sleep,
If you are truly on a quest to know the true God. Let me know what you have read so far on your quest so I can recommend some additional references for you. Many of the popular books are not complete or accurate.

Sleep,
Maybe a clue would help you in answering the question I am asking about Newton. He was a very religious man who wrote more about scripture than he did about science.

Sleep,
I have read Newton and most ancient text that deal with a continuing line of science. Although these are great to read they are clearly not scripture. One must wonder if you have indeed read them? So what did Newton consider his greatest accomplishment?

Re: the need for a bible
Sleep, I did not get a wave of wonderful feelings when I became a Christian. I came in through science and a study of prophesy and codes. This lead me to trust scripture. Over time I have more faith in the Word of God than I do of my own existance. I think everyone has their own path to God but once...

Re: the need for a bible
sleep, The Old testament was written mostly in Hebrew, the New Testament written mostly in Greek. In both of these languages the letters can also be numbers. If I did not point this out I made a mistake. The codes in the Bible are real and are seen in the original form of the written text. Here is s...

Re: The Book of Job
Most people refuse to believe that a spiritual war is going on. Satan and his followers have been very successful in making most people deny that he even exist. A careful read of the New testament reveils that a spiritual war was going on during Christ time on earth. I have always been amazed at why...

Re: Another challenge to Darwinists
Canuckster1127 , I agree with what you said. What I try and show with my post on a YEC model is that there are other ways to look at the same data. I admit the YEC has some big holes and we will probably never fill them. The same can be said of the OEC models. To question everything and place it in ...

Re: Another challenge to Darwinists
the sleep of reason , I was talking about reverse engineering a basic cell. With just our current understanding of molecular biology we should in my opinion be able to do this task if the steps are simple as defined by evolution. If man found a rocket ship we could reverse engineer it in a couple of...

Re: the need for a bible
Do not try and reconcile science with scripture. It is like you say there are many interptretations out there. If you follow the other post you can find find several subjects dealing with this issue. I myself am a YEC but do not try and convert people to this way of thinking. It is like others have ...
