When is the Third Day literally the Third Day?

When is the third day literally the third day? Progressive creationism states that the third day was the point in God's creative process when the waters began to separate forming the clouds, oceans, and a translucent atmosphere. Regardless those that adhere to the progressive stance state that the t...

Dr. Hugh Ross

I was hoping for some clarification on something I heard regarding Dr. Hugh Ross. I was listening to a radio program the other day were you can call in and inquire about topics related to the bible. One caller brought up the subject of Dr. Hugh Ross and asked what the hosts thought of him and his mi...

Re:

Actually, The Message Bible is written by Eugene Peterson. My problem withthe Message isn't that it is a paraphrase, but a total rewriting or scripture. The fact that Peterson's books are recommended by New Age thinkers should be a warning sign to Christians everywhere. To call "The Message&qu...

Re: Christian Music

I didn't see any other thread about this so I thought I'd start one. :ewink: What kinds of Christian music is everyone into? Got any favorite worship songs, gospel songs, contemporary Christian songs, etc.? I like so many different kinds of Christian music that I'm not sure were to start. Hmm... Ch...

Re: Please Introduce Yourself Here

Hi everybody, This is really more of a re-introduction. It's been awhile since I have posted here (I noticed that cslewislover is now a Board Admin, way to go!). Anyhow I have spent the majority of my time posting on atheist forums and have come to the conclusion that it is a futile effort. And I re...

gravitationally bound constellations

I was going through the list of scientific principles here at G&S and came across the Pleiades's and Orion section were it stated that they are gravitationally bound constellations. I found a blurp on Wikipedia stating that Pleiades was gravitationally, but could find nothing directly relating t...

Q debunked?

I recently came across an idea that the "Q" document does not address certain aspects of the Gospels. One of them being "Q's" failure to account for the different presentations of Jesus Christ. The book of Matthew presents Christ as Messiah King, Mark presents Jesus as a Servant,...

Re: Disasters

But the irony is that in order to bring peace, this land is to be divided... I mean, if one wants to bring peace what to do?? Isn't peace better for God than war? The only true peace that we can have in the world comes from Jesus Christ. John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; n...

Hi Dazed. Can you tell me which volume this is from? I sent in for a subscription to the quarterly, but I think I'll need to order a back issue if I want this article. Thanks! I believe this is the most current edition: The Word for Today, Winter 2008 Quarterly, Entitled:In The Beginning "Worl...

Re: Disasters

Good points Dazed and Confused! Wow i dindnt actually think of it so. But ok - so we could almost certainly say that those events are a sign from God? But here is the question: Why God every time there is this peace talk etc - intervenes by a bad thing? And also, what is bad with the peace talks an...

Re: Disasters

Matthew 24:8 "But all these things are the beginning of birth pangs. I see some of these disasters as signs and warnings from God. A recent example: Franklin Graham declared that he would not encourage the preaching of the Gospel during the Olympic Games to be held in China this summer. An arti...

Re: The Dove and Olive Branch

Would not the trees have to be totally submerged? Otherwise someone may have climbed to the very top and lived. (Of course, I believe in the worldwide flood, not a local one.) ;) I think if someone had climbed a tree that they would have been stuck up there a long time and probably starved to death...

The Dove and Olive Branch

I have had several questions about some things in the Old Testament that have eluded me for years, so I thought I would post some and see if I am missing something. I have never been able to find a resolve from any apologist sites or books. Snice I have been studying the local flood topic as of late...
