Re: Obama chooses Rick Warren for inauguration..
It's odd how the media refers to Warren as "America's Pastor"...he most certainly is not mine. I am not a follower of Warren and the emergent church. The term "Bible-based" is thrown around quite a bit and any church that makes such a claim should be opened to scrutiny (Jehovah's...

Re: Utilitarian Hedonism
Here are the results of the debate: At the eleventh hour, my opponent canceled. His publisher moved the deadline up on his new book and he had to finish the last chapter in a hurry. I would like to think that he was afraid to debate me, but that is not the case. The debate will be delayed ...

Re: What's in a name?
Around the community, I am known simply as "Rody's husband". It is a humbling experience...so I've taken her name as a screen name to remind myself that God desires us to remain humble in the face of tragedy. A nice story, rodyshusband! thanks for telling us. Can you say where in Upstate ...

Re: Did Dr. Ross Fudge The Facts?
Sounds to me like Ken does not understand what is being said. If the cosmological constant differed by more than 10^120 it is said it would either expand too quickly to form solar stars, or cave in to gravitational forces. Thus, life as we know it would be rendered impossible. Beat me to it, again,...

Re: Isn't the OEC vs YEC debate pushing away believers?
If God can see the future and knew what was going to happen with the debate over Genesis why would he make it so debatable? Meaning… many people have been driven away from the church and faith because they believe that science and the bible contradict, based on the young earth theory. Couldn't God ...

Re: Was the West founded on Christian Values?
In the presentation, "Is American Really Christian?", Ravi Zacharias and Michael Ramsden address this question. Zacharias asks the question, "Can America have been founded on any other worldview?" (Islam, Hinduism, naturalism?) There were those founders not sympathetic to Christi...

Re: The Testimony of Adam_777
At the extreme risk of arousing more controversy, I have to add my experiences with YEC. I understand a good part of their argument (and forgive me if this has already been brought up; I despise redundancy in debate)... This is not directed at out friend Adam_777, but many other YEC's believe OEC go...

Re: What's in a name?
My on line name isn't very original but there is a some-what amusing story behind it: When my wife, named Rody, lost two of her four children, we felt it important to move to her hometown, a small, rural community in upstate New York, to be a support to her surviving family. Everyone here knows her ...

Re: I want love from a man
My bible says that it is a sin to lie with another man, engaing in such activities. It is an Abomination to God. Do your homework. You will find this to be true. Just being striaght with you. You are correct and all of us involved in this thread, including our friend Harry, agree. Perhaps this brie...

Re: The Testimony of Adam_777
Thank your for sharing your testimony, Adam_777. I have considered both YEC and OEC opinions. May I recommend visiting http://www.youtube.com/user/rodyshusband, and click onto the Hugh Ross playlist. There is a series of lectures as well as debate, that you may find helpful. Although I welcome civil...

The question is self-contradictory and collapses on itself. Another example would be, "Can God create a squared circle?"

Harry's quote: "Still think marriage should be left as a governmental institution??? I find it funny that you wouldn't trust health care in the hands of the government, but you'd trust marriage, a sacred, God-given institution in the government's hands." I'm not sure who this statement is ...
