This isn't creating artificial life from scratch like the supposed first cell of abiogenesis. "As soon as this new software goes into the cell, the cell reads [it] and converts into the species specified in that genetic code." They are just swapping genomes. All of the enzymatic machinery ...

I prefer to look at the basic central dogma. DNA replication or transcription requires hundreds of proteins and yet DNA replication and transcription are required to obtain proteins.

I actually have a different question. When we die, will we still remember or recollect the people we knew or the places we went?
