Re: Curious about YEC position
My sister became a YEC which kinda bothers me... hopefully she'll turn to the Day-Age/OEC view sometime like me. And how can some YEC proponents such as Kent Hovind, be "well-meaning Christians" if they deliberately lie to scientifically-illiterate Christians to spread their propaganda? Th...
Re: 2012
Prophecy says that no human being will be able to buy or sell anything without an implant in the forehead and hand... and even though we already have that sort of technology - from the way things are at this time it doesn't look as though that is about to happen in years yet to come let alone 2012.

Re: Curious about YEC position
The comparisons in tree rings of living and dead bristle cone pines, and ice core samples from the polar regions, are also strong evidence of Earth to be older than 6000/10,000 years... and for some reason these methods seem even more convincing to me than carbon 14, radiometric, etc. dating methods..

About the retrovirus integrations present only in African apes - could it be possible they somehow disappeared from our lineage?

Interesting. Could you in short describe it to me.In an apologetics book I have here at home, there is even proof for a recent large-scale "satanic miracle,"

Re: Microevolution/Progressitive Creation
Do you think the author(s) was human(s) who heard the words of God or God himself?

Agree. To really believe science has no impact or vice-versa I think is quite naive.

Re: Microevolution/Progressitive Creation
Anonymiss , Deal with the Biblical language used in Genesis 1 and 2 and then speak to me about how God used evolution. Bara means to bring into being something brand new (animals Gen. 1:21; mankind Gen. 1:27). Asa means to build it (animals Gen. 1:25; mankind gen. 1:26). Yatsar means to shape or fo...

Re: Microevolution/Progressitive Creation
day-age - the biases you speak of, it seems to me a lot of people rejecting human evolution dislike the idea of us sharing a common ancestry with animals (which I being an animal-lover, have no problems with at all).

Re: Microevolution/Progressitive Creation
Assuming that we in this scientific age and western scientific culture are the measure of how God "should" have done something or left the evidence of what He did , smacks more of a perspective bias on our part, I think. Even so the mountains of scientific evidence (to date) suggesting th...

Re: Microevolution/Progressitive Creation
The problem I have with your interpretation of the bara/asa thing, is that I have a hard time believing God would be so deceiving as to create organisms independently right from scratch as you speak - that share so many attributes that it creates the illusion that evolution occurred (just some of th...

Re:
Plus, you should also realize that Christians believe that what really sets us apart is our spirit, which is created in the image of God. We have a divine nature that animals don't have. Exactly. Until I learned more here - I had a similar attitude (to the banned person who participated earlier in ...

Re: Christian Views
Perhaps when in heaven we'll be given the option to visit deceased companion animals (speculating they do have souls or spirits) in the realm they are sent to. The idea of never seeing them ever again seems saddening - especially blind/handicapped people with assistance dogs. Howver, isn't there a ...
