Re: killing...maybe have been answered, i am new

I think we just never kill - ever.

Especially our fellow man.

We are supposed to forgive and turn the cheek.

War is bad, killing is wrong. We should have no armies, soldiers, weapons or guns.

That's what I read in the teaching of Jesus.

Re: Literal snake in the Garden of Eden?

Dayage: God wanted them to learn about evil from Him without having to sin and therefore experience it. This sin brought on judgment. God knows about evil, but does not have to practice it to know about it. Where does scripture teach this ? I have not read this in Genesis or any other book of the Bi...

Re: Literal snake in the Garden of Eden?

Dayage, Regarding Luke 17:21 and "among you" I guess you can read the Gospel of Thomas for support. Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will p...

Re: Literal snake in the Garden of Eden?

Dayage, I don't belong to any denomination. Although I like the Quakers a lot for their teaching of non-violence. In Genesis 2:16 the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:...

Re: Literal snake in the Garden of Eden?

Christ is God. And "the Kingdom of God is within us." Luke 17:21 In the beginning The Word was with God. I believe that the story of Genesis happens every time a child is born. It is a symbollic retelling of how our soul (Atom) descends or "Falls" from The Kingdom of heaven and i...

re: "The word nachash is a very elastic term in Hebrew. ..... The third option—the adjectival meaning of nachash—is the solution to the contradiction problem. When nachash serves as an adjective, it's meaning is “shining bronze” or“polished” (as in “shiny”). By adding the definite article to...
