Re: Does the universe have a purpose
I think God created the universe and its vastness because as easy as it is for him, it creates faith in all of us. No matter how far technology can project a telescope, we will not find an "end" to God's work or the "place" where it all started. There is no need for time or place...

Re: Wouldn't the bible be impossible to fake?
Paul, thank-you and very true. There seems to be no evidence of control as a motive coming from the biblical text. I still think it would have been extremely difficult, if not impossible, to cross reference all the passages in the bible that refer forward and back. I am not just speaking of prophesi...

Re: Wouldn't the bible be impossible to fake?
Sorry, I am just speaking on behalf of the bible authenticity. I have heard the arguement that the bible was cut, pasted and written by a group to try and "control" people. As I have read through it, it seems it would be impossible to put a bible together as a ploy to trick people. With th...

The bible copying older religious themes.
Came across quite a discusssion earlier on overlapping of similar themes and persons in the old testament mimicing older recorded religions. I have researched it a bit, but always come back to this forum to borrow research based opinions from the readers here. How can the themes be so similar? I wou...

Wouldn't the bible be impossible to fake?
It seems to me, when considering the crude shape of paper and lack of printing technology, faking the bible, specifically the new testament, would have been nearly impossible. To ensure all the proverbial i's were dotted, and t's crossed so as to not leave out details from the old testament, it seems...

Re: I'm an atheist
If a student walked into a classroom and sat down at a desk, could a test create itself? Could a tornado hit the room and suddenly create a test on the desk? Our logic tells us no. Yet,that is what the atheist philosophy teaches. From the moment we are born until the day we die, the world is like a ...

Re: I'm an atheist
One more thing, I was actually surprised to find a site like this and to see how the perception of god has evolved. It went from a "man" living up in the clouds in heaven to a being outside of our possible existence, possibly existing in another dimension or out of phase of our perception...

Re: I'm an atheist
It is interesting how much my perspective has changed over the years of studying science and Christianity. I remember in my college days, before I started investigating science and origins of the universe, I would read Christian forums and think, Wow, they really do sound ignorant and naive. The las...

CeT-To, Bless you for your wonderful encouraging words! Wow, you are very wise for your age...not surprised since you are a loyal christian and God has given you that. I agree that Christ provides logical reasons for us to show us what is wrong with our lives. My son has been returning to church occ...

Derricko9, That was an excellent interview. Thank-you so much as that was just what I was looking for. Water is only one of 300 factors needed to work simultaneously to even create minimal life, and as far as "sustaining" life, just not possible. So why are atheists getting so excited? Thi...

Ahhh, Troublemakingteen, don't lose faith. I have had so many of the same questions but please know with continued research, my questions have been answered. Part of the problem is exactly what G-man says, you are dealing with a different culture who have idioms just as we do to represent ideas that...

Hi Danny, I love your honesty on here and appreciate reading all that Bart has to say, he is so filled with knowledge that is spirit led. With that being said, I struggle so much with the same things. I am constantly disapointed with myself for judging others. I feel like such a grouch but I find my...

Danny, love your encouragement. I believe my son will figure things our. I was not perfect either. I LOVE your insight and analogy to the pitbull in the China shop as that is exactly how I act sometimes and it helped me gain some perspective. Thanks as always Danny
