Paul the New Moses

Thinking that what Jesus taught and what Paul taught contradict stems from misunderstanding, of course. What is misunderstood is that Jesus came as a Jew before He instituted the new covenant. Jesus was Jewish, but was different from what others considered Jews should be like or do. He let his disci...

Satan's Mental Attacks Regarding Salvation

I don't know anything about blaspheming the Holy Spirit and have also wondered what it's all about, but I really like what Dan wrote! Brian, don't worry a thing about it! Not because your fate's already determined, (I fully believe in predestination... and so did the authors of the Bible!) but becau...

Salvation, Sin in the Heart, and Sinful Natures

Go Kmart! Yes, salvation is secure. My belief is that if you ever "fall from grace" you never had it to begin with, but were close enough theologically to call it that (?). Once saved from all sins, past, present and future, unbelief is included in that seeing as how it is a sin itself! If...

It wasn't supposed to be taken literally, Helmet. He just meant that he was being extra stupid. I got the story. It was interesting and amusing, but I'm not one to laugh at those things. And I think that the story was done pretty well overall, just maybe needs a little touching up to make it flow sm...

Documentaries by Deceitful Liars

I saw a very old silent Joan of Arc movie once where there were no words, (?, or few?) during the whole thing. It was dramatic music and facial expressions for the most part, anyway. That was a powerful movie on her! And I couldn't help but cry as well, MM. It was Dutch, and had to be put back toget...

"Turning to the Pope"

I think every Christian, not just catholics can find confidence in these dark times by turning to the Pope. Don't mean to go on in here, but it really makes my heart heavy- turn to God, not the pope. Peter and Paul would've had righteous anger if anyone said that people should turn to them. They wo...

Back to buisness! Some people LIKE an ordered structure to worshipping God. Some people want to be guided to Him. Some people are unsure about what they should do to worship God and are unsure about how they interpret the bible. These people tend to drift to catholicism because it's a guiding light ...

Repeating is Sometimes Necessary for Clarification

Oh, come on Mastermind, use what you've "mastered"! I'm repeating for clarification; and what's your response to my clarification attempt? More muddling! You can't have a good debate when, in a rebutal, you don't fully acknowledge and respond to what the other people in the debate say! Do ...

That's hilarious because the vatican teaches that all people who live holy lives under Christ are saints. The ones canonized are the ones who have proof that they lived holy lives and proof that a miracle was observed after asking intercession through the saint candidate after they have died. Hmmm,...

Faith Plus Nothing

Dan, to say that if that one verse tarreyl pointed out wasn't in the Bible the RCC would add these other mysterious "oral traditions" that supposedly were directed by the apostles after John wrote Revelation, just doesn't seem right. They added apocryphal books to the Old Testament, and, a...

I was actually talking to myself! I know those things, but nothing more off-hand. I also mentioned it as kind of a weak way to say that, yes, it's in there somewhere! Still don't feel like looking it up. :)

I agree with both of you. Mastermind, you hit something that I hadn't ever payed attention to before: "Let the earth put forth" and "Let the waters bring forth." Kind of interesting phrasing here, isn't it?! It would lead to a biblical belief in naturalistic means!

Mastermind Defends Eating Himself

:D Relax- I was just kidding around! You mentioned something about my conscience eating me once, and then I see your post here, and then I thought of replying with the post I replied with, just for fun. That's all. :o

Not one Christian should try to be "religiously correct", (my new term!) If something is harmful, then it is harmful. Except that you, like her, do not understand the Catholic position. Paul was referring to those who think they are saved by their works and NOT BY FAITH. That is certainly ...
