CAN or WILL SOMEONE tell me the magic formula that results in a literal Christ being the progeny of a figurative Adam per the genealogy of Christ?

Re: Who was Adam?
I did, (and for the record I didn't attack any person, just features of posts that were presumptuous) I pointed to the genealogy of Christ as quite literal, all the way to Adam and was attacked for it. So anyone want to magically tell me how a "figurative Adam" could produce at some point ...

Well let's hope you are nourished enough by the crumbs you fed upon to return to your senses.

Re: Who was Adam?
Which genealogy? There are two in the New Testament and they read differently. I thought you were a YEC. I see you are not. Good. You can stop attacking me now. How do you account for the different reading in Matthew and Luke and also how do you account for Christians like Francis Collins insisting...

Re: Who was Adam?
Could you make some more assertions and not back them up with any information Alex? Thanks we appreciate it. Of course the world is only 6 thousand years old and we used to use brontosaurus to till the fields like Fred Flinstone on tv. Well, if you are going to come to a "Christian Theology&qu...

Re: Slavery in the Bible
Slavery is a human institution and it is not immoral or moral per se. That is to say, being owned by someone or owning someone is not a moral context. Hence the Bible does not treat owning or being owned by someone, rather it deals with how we are to conduct ourselves either as slave or master and t...

Re: Who was Adam?
The genealogy of our Lord is given in the NT. It is a literal genealogy since our Lord was literal. The genealogy goes all the way to Adam. There is no such thing as a genealogy being figurative and then suddenly these non-existent people of a figurative nature magically have literal progeny. Adam w...

Re: Christian constuction
The answer is that the Theocracy of Israel, the time of which you are referring, the the period today which is the church age, do not operate under the same protocol. While some protocols for believers have transcended the varying economies, administrations or dispensations of God for people, most d...

Re: Biblibical claims of Omnipotence?
Many atheists claim that the biblical God can't exist by the usual Omnipotent Omniscient arguments. At first I failed to see where the bible claims that God is omnipotent until I found this In Matt. 19:26 it says, But Jesus beheld, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all t...

Re: Can a Christian Be a Darwinist? (debate)
The other considerations of theistic evolution, while having some impact on theological considerations, do not have the hermeneutic challenges that biological evolution do, hence its greater relevance. The former is not considered in the Bible beyond hints and some texts that provide some basis for ...

Re: shaving, sabbath and such
Relax, Christ is our Sabbath, our eternal rest. The sabbath day for the theocracy of Israel was for a lesson, a type to teach of the coming Sabbath or permanent rest in Christ. In Christ you may shave any time. The problem is that the commandment itself gives the What, When, Who, and Why...and inte...

Re: Can a Christian Be a Darwinist? (debate)
Well the OP was dealing with biological evolution (Darwinist) which is why my response is limited to the incompatibility of the genealogy of our Lord which is presented literally and evolution which requires it to be, in part figurative and then at some unknown point literal. That is a hermeneutic d...

Re: Can a Christian Be a Darwinist? (debate)
Yes, a Christian (and they have historically done so on many issues) can believe in evolution or any erring doctrine. It does not automatically afford us the opportunity to conclude emphatically they are not a Christian, rather that they are in error. So all theistic evolutionists are in error? The...
