Re: What happens when we die?

Interesting post. Sadly for me I am still struggling with the thought nothingness awaits. I must admit one thing though... It does not escape my mind when I go to the lake at sunset and smell the air, the beautiful landscape, the gorgeous orange/reddish sunset upon the waters that I am truly seeing ...

Earthquakes and Natural Disasters

If God does exist, I've often wondered "Why do earthquakes, tsunami's, tornado's, etc"...come about? Why does God allow those to come about? Why would he create a world that would have these things? Is it even God, or is it mother nature?

Re: Who was Adam?

I personally don't believe there ever was a first man or woman. I think that Genesis tells a certain tale and here's what it should be taken as, in my eyes: There were humans, and GOd called man 'Adam' and women 'Eve'. I believe the story of Genesis tells one thing : The rise of man, the rebellion a...

Re: Omnipotence

Why does a child talk to his/her father/mother? It helps build a relationship. Imagine a child being born, and let alone for 20 years, and then meets his father who is going to die soon. What good would that do? I believe prayer helps build a relationship with God, and helps us get closer to him. I ...

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

Thanks, I wish my PM feature would work, as I have many questions that I hope you perhaps would be able to help me with if that's not a problem. I could explain myself more.

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

I want to believe in God. However, I cannot simply say I believe in God. I need to experience God to say I do. So, how do I say this? You cannot disprove an experience. That is why I think I need to experience God's love or precense to be able to say I believe in him cause of it. So, how do you expe...

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

Those are some good points you made jlay, but I will say why I don't believe in God 1.) Atheism Just look around anything on the internet, youtube, message boards, anything. Atheists killed a lot of my faith, if not all, and have made me not believe in God. When I read things such as "Religion ...

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

If that did happen it would have been huge news..I have never heard about it.. The best thing I can describe life is like this The universe has been here billions of years. You have been dead for billions of years. All of a sudden, mom and dad have intercourse and here you are. You live for 70 years...

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

I can relate exactly to the OP here. I too here fear that death is the end and nothingness awaits. That is scary to think about..very scary. What's more scarier is that the older I get the more "old" looking I get. Everyday I wake up I the first thing on my mind is my immediate death. I al...

What happens when we die?

Has anyone questioned what if we're wrong and there is no Heaven, Hell, or afterlife? I have often pondered the idea that when we die, that's it. And that is scary. I can't help but be at the dinner table with wife and kid and think I will die and enter eternal blackness forever. It is scary to me. ...
