Re: John Wesley's theology
Apparently, you believe millions upon millions of sincere, born-again Christians were saved through evangelism efforts that believed that ALL men COULD be saved if they would only obey God's initiating and have faith in what He has provided them (Himself, Jesus, the Gospel). How do you know what mi...

I already told you, Rick, there is no Aunt Sal.RickD wrote:Danny you need to throw the Aunt Sal at this one. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.
But rather than take little pot shots at side issues, why not deal with the meat?

Re: John Wesley's theology
The problem is, Five Point Calvinism is a man-made theological construct that tries to put our omnipotent God, Who transcends time, space, dimension, and parameters we don’t even know about, into a box. The Five Points of Calvinism were given in direct opposition to James Arminius’ followers‘ formu...

but rather merely makes salvation possible for those who have enough natural virtue to make the right decision using their "free will". This is a misrepresentation of what Arminianism teaches. Natural virtue, is not at all what Arminianism says is what allows people to believe the gospel....

No you are not the only one, Stu. Can you give me a genuine link to these claims?Stu wrote:What's your take on the most critical aspect though -- that the Ten Commandments have been altered?
I mean am I the only one who finds this completely and totally unacceptable!!?

Re: John Wesley's theology
This destructive debate over a man-made theological construct - the theological box of Five Point Calvinism - is harmful to both believers and unbelievers alike. Even Calvinists often disagree on various points, the complexity of which has filled many volumes. In the three following posts, is my vi...

y>:D< y>:D< y>:D< y>:D< Not offended at all brother Danny, I love you too much. I only wanted that we all get along and so we may not unintentionally, perhaps in our own argument, be a stumble to someone; as I full well know it would never be your intention and purpose at all. I know you are sincer...

Re: The Epicurean paradox
My definition of evil is simple, the complete contradiction of love, thus my initial quote "God loves you". If God loves you, why does he ban you to an eternity of hell? Irrelevent to what your actions may be. Unconiditional love is lacking from God. On atheism, your view of evil is neith...

Re: John Wesley's despicable theology
Brothers, this is almost the same things we have been arguing about in the last month. Predestination, salvation, etc etc. I seriously don't think going down the road again is gonna change anything...so lets get back to topic. The point I made in my post was, the Wesley didn't believe in the Calvini...

Re: John Wesley's theology
I see the OP has been left to grow old in the archives. No one has even touched the issues in the OP. I was surely a fool to expect more. So since the stock objections are once again coming thick and fast, we’ll move on and forget the intent of this thread. Why do some believe and others don't, if e...

Re: Perry and Romney
The thing is - all your "Christian" candidates always come across as Caricatures and it is embarrasing to watch them. They basically make Christianity look like a joke. I always cringed when I saw Bush on TV. What America needs is someone like Josiah Bartlett or Matt Santos but then that ...

Re: John Wesley's despicable theology
I appreciate your words, brothers, but I would be failing in my duty to follow my heart if I dumb this down. I'm sure you are sincere - then so am I. So If you want to defend Wesley, then do it - you won't get any objection from me. Likewise I'd expect you to respect my sincerity and allow me to fol...
