Re: jesus is a sinner?

Gabrielman, so that begs the question: Are you pinning your hopes or believing on the right translation? So whoever decides if there's ever an error or not in a Greek source? You? See, I didn't have to rely on some ancient Greek texts to know that he was indeed nervous. All I needed was some human, ...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

He didn't fornicate, it only applies to humans.

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Also you article said some translations ommited this. I have never seen any translation with this in there. Please read them again Gabrielman. Omitted (from the known translations) were two Greek words that pertains to the nervous behavior. The author was directly translating from Greek (from which...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Again, however, I'm wondering about language issues. Are you saying Jesus sinned or not? He didn't, but then that doesn't mean that I don't believe that he had sex outside of marriage (which you consider a sin for him and I do not), and which makes this discussion rather complicated. Interpretation...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

We have to stop here because there are problems with the words. First we have the words 'kato: kupsas' or "leaning over, downwards" and touching the ground (ge:n) with his finger. The Greek says 'he wrote' (egrapse) but the Greek word can also refer to making a mark, as in Homer 'the spea...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

If He was without sin, then why would He need divine immunity? It makes no sense. If He is God, then why does He need "rights"? That also makes no sense. He is God and all is in Him; what does He need rights for? And why would He need you to defend them? You said "All is in him"...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Encrypted (hidden) portions of the Scriptures are timeless, after all they are "divinely inspired" and one can't just argue that they are from another era and that those symbols don't apply or can't mean anything now etc. etc. In fact, I think you're missing the most amazing "timeless...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Btw, "stooping down", "writing with his finger" and "ground" has symbolic (double) meanings associated to them. Being human, sex and female respectively. ;)

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Why are you asking the first question? So that you can get in on it too? No, why do you think that? I'm celibate right now and even willing to die while at it. I'm just concerned for the man, err.. God. I really think he deserves a break (that, without being judged). The question shows that you don...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

cslewislover, what I meant was what if Jesus rather has a "divine immunity" to sin? Like being allowed to do certain "sinful" things without being counted as "sinning". With regards to being a dummy or at least close to it, would you agree though that without "sin&...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Question is, to whom is he accountable for if he indeed does "sin"? So I would agree with you, he didn't, doesn't. Ever.

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Well before anyone sinfully appends (Rev 22:18) to the Scriptures thanks all for your insights, although all these reminds me of a conversation with a Catholic cousin of mine, that he won't accept Jesus as having sex at all. I said what if he has or he wanted to? It's not up to you to decide on that...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

I've never seen any commentaries put out that Jesus was nervous here, that that was the meaning of the text. Lol. And even if he were, being nervous is not a sin, so it's not addressing the topic. And that is not advanced or complicated. Read the texts in context. Well it's just a cue, you can alwa...

Re: jesus is a sinner?

Caporegime, your response here does not seem to address the topic, and it doesn't even seem to make sense. Read all the verses, and in context. Also, if you have not seen the Discussion Guidelines for the site, please read them: http://discussions.godandscience.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4 Thanks ...
