Re: Atheists and Youtube, what is the deal?
I don't want a atheist viewpoint on this and I don't want an atheist to participate in this thread so please be considerate and stop responding. Atheists make my life miserable enough. If you're not watching their videos and trying to avoid them at every turn then I'd be intrigued to know how they'...

Re: Atheists and Youtube, what is the deal?
I was just giving an atheists view on why the internet might be an attractive medium to other atheists. That's an answer that a fellow christian might not be able to give you.

Re: Atheists and Youtube, what is the deal?
A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that religious groups already have communities centered around churches etc. Atheists by definition don't affiliate with any religious group so they don't have a community they can instantly tap into. The internet has become a great utility for any niche ...

Re: Proof for an Intelligent Creator
So in response to your answer, can I take it that you have never asked a theist "If God is the cause, then what caused God"? You are perfectly rational in treating your "unknowingness" or "unknowability" in a neutral fashion, and I couldn't possibly critisise such a st...

Re: Proof for an Intelligent Creator
All of the above assumes that the law of causality (as you state it) holds true outside of our own universe. It could be that causality was created along with space, time and matter. This is not to say that the universe didn't have an intelligent creator, just that it doesn't follow necessarily fro...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus
Hey Gman - 2 things: 1 - Is there anything that could not be explained in terms of the common designer hypothesis? 2 - Do you have any good resources for info about the 14, 7 & y-chromosome difference, and the telomere length differences? Would save me quite a bit of googling if you had some lin...

Re: Proof for an Intelligent Creator
@csll But the bible doesn't contradict the torah, does it? The NT could be seen as contradicting the Torah. Why do you think Jesus got into so much trouble with the Jewish leaders at the time? Anders is not a Christian, at least in our sense. I went to that website. They claim to follow the teacher...

Re: Proof for an Intelligent Creator
@ anders. So I assume you're saying that Christianity is wrong because you think it contradicts the Torah. Christians don't think so, obviously. The first Christians were Jews (and Samaritans, who only had the Pentateuch) and they didn't seem to have a problem with that either. I think he's saying ...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus
Guys, I thought I would make a note... I'm actually not repudiating science or the idea of Darwinian evolution. I'll admit that it IS a possibility just like anything else... We simply do not know. So that is my stance.. What I'm against here is spot-welding arguments and closing communications. Go...
