Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

I happily cross over and read Gould's books just as I read books from prominent scientists who dissent from Gould's conclusion. If you want to stumble around playing games have at it. I've pointed you in the right direction and given you an excellent opportunity to come up to speed quickly with a g...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

Not exactly... There are some similarities which also could be explained by a common designer, but there are also differences... "Humans have two fewer (one pair) chromosomes compared to chimpanzees . However, human chromosome 2 seems to be a combination of two smaller chromosomes found in ape...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

For one example take what happened when the genomes of humans and the other living apes had been carefully examined; it was found humans have one fewer pair of chromosomes than the apes. In evolutionary terms that demanded that either the other apes had all separately gained an extra chromosome pai...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

Scientists across scientific disciplines are criticizing evolutionary theory as never before. The more prominent among them are publishing books and journal articles. I've already given you a very good resource to begin with. Why don't you just go buy it tomorrow. It will immediately capture your a...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

Absolutely yes! Read the book. Well I don't have a copy of it to hand, but I will look out for it at my local library at the weekend. I'd love to hear of any that you know about though. It's new so probably won't be in your local library. You'll need to order it. It's worth it. You'll have a much b...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

I've never claimed to have proof. The fact that evolutionary theory has produced theories ahead of time that have gone on to be validated is very strong evidence that the theory is doing something right - it is congruent with the observed facts to the extent of being able to predict unknown things....

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

Bravo! We have plenty of evidence, though. Do you understand the difference between proof and evidence, with particular respect to the fact that nothing can be proved outside of the formal sciences (i.e. maths, logic, etc.)? Again, we have been over this many times.. You have no evidence and you ha...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

To deny that evolution is a "fact" (beyond nit-picking the definition of the word) after seeing and understanding the weight of evidence is to dunk your head firmly in the sand. And yet you still have no proof of it... :? Bravo! We have plenty of evidence, though. Do you understand the di...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

OK - and do you have any validated predictions that creationism has made, or any criticism of the validity of predictions made based on the theory of evolution?

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

We took the same classes you did in college. We took the same courses and passed them with A's and B's just like you did. The difference is that we put in the wrench time to question and qualify what we were learning with open minds. We didn't just gulp down what we were told, close our minds, slip...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

I disagree. There are many threads on this subject and I don't intend to repeat everything here. Disagree with which bit? With a lot of it, lol. I used to be very interested in this whole subject. My BA is in anthropology (I know, a BA isn't a huge thing), and I was predominantly interested in huma...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

Yes, and when it comes to ancient things, it is all guess work and could very easily be wrong. Highly educated guess work, yes, but it could still very easily be wrong. People "out there" tend to generalize a great deal, like the media, and believe something to be true that is really only...

Re: Ardi - Ardipithecus ramidus

No, but what unfortunately what happens is that in the "retelling" in the mainstream media, the research is diluted and people come away with overblown conclusions or oversimplified concepts. Look at this thread...so much that the mainstream media reported has had to be clarified. So if y...
