Re: There Is No Hell!
I can confidently now say that ANYONE living south of the Mason-Dixon line this past week DEFINITELY believes in hell! We hit our all-time local high of 109 degrees (Midlands of SC), factor in an unreal humidity level, and it was absolutely brutal. But it was a WET heat.

Re: There Is No Hell!
First let me clarify, Christian Annihilationists are saved and Heaven bound. I am not saying they are not. I absolutely agree! They just have a different take upon the eternal fate of unbelievers. And I do find the idea that those dying unrepentant are first punished ACCORDINGLY and then subsequent...

Re: There Is No Hell!
Annihilationists apparently don't believe in God's JUSTICE. Does it make sense that a Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, tyrants that have murdered and brutalized millions over many years, that they receive no punishment to fit their crimes - that their crimes have cost them nothing beyond coming to an end to...

Re: Masturbation Inquiry
By the way, Philip, I couldn't open the site's forums, says it's an SQL error. Reactionary, it appears they are having server problems - I couldn't even get into the site this morning (Sunday). Try it again later - absolutely fantastic site. I'll followup if the link doesn't begin working. UPDATE (...

Re: Masturbation Inquiry
Here is a very thoughtful, in-depth discussion over the appropriateness/sinfulness or non-sinfulness of MB from a wonderful married Christians' forum (TheMarriageBed.com) that's main focus is sexual issues: http://www.boards.themarriagebed.com/viewtopic.php?f=107&t=50881&hilit=is+masturbati...

Re: Experience with Atheist forums
The thing is, that by the time one JOINS and frequently contributes to an atheist forum, they are often so blind, their hearts so hard, that they make sure their mental filter is continually set to "reject all Christian input, no matter how compelling." So not only will atheists/agnostics ...

Re: I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
Lux, and another good idea would be to have key landing pages, each with a header of some type of provocative question - that is intuitively phrased as people surfing for its answer would likely search by (example: "What evidence is there that God exists?"). I would also keep in mind that ...

Re: I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
Thanks, Lux - who knows, I may have something to contribute. Few thoughts on you building a site: At this point, there are so many good apologetics materials out there that what I see the greatest value in is pointing people in the right direction, to the right resource, to good answers from quality...

Re: I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
I wanted to do something similar. I've written two extensive apologetic volumes (over about 6 years), but have not finished either. I keep adding to them and finding new things I want to add. And I love to edit, reorganize ("to infinity and beyond!") One is devoted to inerrancy issues, how...

Re: ACTUAL Scriptures or NOT? If not, don't quote them!!
I've always wondered about the legitimacy of how the Bible was put together. I'm very interested in knowing what resources exist regarding the authenticity of the Bible process. Here's a good reference to have about how the Bible was given/received: http://www.amazon.com/From-God-To-Us-Bible/dp/080...

Re: Who are we to judge homosexuality/others?
If God is all good and the very measure of all that is moral, and all evil is the antithesis of that, then all God commands CAN ONLY be ULTIMATELY moral. But we have to remember that the entire Creation was made by God and is His. This also means that only He has the right to do with it as He so des...

Re: Who are we to judge homosexuality/others?
So a thing is moral because God commands it then, regaurdless of any consequences? Absolutely true! As God cannot/will not do any evil. There is no evil that God has caused. But He does use those already intending evil for His own good and eternal purposes: "As for you, you meant evil against ...

Re: Who are we to judge homosexuality/others?
Plus, does the all-knowning God Who calls himself The Great I AM, who is both eternal and unchangeable, hate some behavior so badly that He calls it an "abomination," even destroying people and nations for it, then suddenly do a 180 and allows it? Even SUPPOSEDLY has created people born so...
