Re: Christianity and secular music
It's not just more-recent CHRISTIAN music that has lost it's quality, but popular music IN GENERAL! An awful lot of songs today are not written by musicians, but are written by singers who hire someone to arrange the bulk of their musical compositions for them. This almost always means a lower quali...

Re: Argument from bad design. Very, very bad design!
The universe was intelligently designed to be temporary and sustain life. Absolutely. To truly understand the WHY of the design God put into the universe, we'd have to be able to understand His purpose for each living creature. And scripture teaches that EVERYTHING in THIS place/earth, in THIS time...

Re: Experiences with nonbelievers
What I notice about a lot of hostile/aggressive unbelievers is that they either had a bad church experience growing up, or grew up in a church that was spiritually dead and often insincere and filled with hypocrisy. They may have seen a lot of negativity or experienced hurt from people CALLING thems...

Re: Any NFL fans out there? How about that Tebow?
What is very interesting - and revealing - about the whole Tim Tebow thing, is not Tebow as much as it is the reactions to a few simple quiet seconds of a man on his knee. For an obvious reason, that really bothers a lot of people. That and people hoping he will fail so that it will fit in with (and...

Re: Romney
Wrain, you can't ratchet up and down military size QUICKLY ENOUGH, nor its related spending and technology initiatives that appropriate defense is dependent upon. A military has to be ready at all times for POTENTIAL troubles, you can't just wait until a war or threat is upon you. We must stay at th...

Can you imagine her indescribable moment of joyful transformation and of seeing her Lord?

Re: Romney
wrain62, I agree that foreign entanglements must be weighed with great care, that we've stumbled foolishly into wars. But Paul isn't just talking about those, he's talking about a tremendously down-sized military, which would be very foolish. Usually after his pronouncement of such radical changes, ...

Re: Romney
Ron Paul is the candidate that best represents Christia views. Why is he so scary? In my opinion, he is a pragmatic Libertarian who doesn't see the reality of danger behind the motives of people or nations. His naivete about the threat of Iran to the Middle East and world, as well as its danger to ...

Re: Romney
Rick, even though I'm a Southern boy, I spend a lot of time in MA, RI and CT. My wife it from CT and my SIL lives in Springfield, MA. Interestingly, I see conservative values erupting up there, guessing as a long-overdue backlash to many years of liberal social views and heavy taxation. The older Ca...

Re: Romney
Kinda like it's predestined, eh? Well, Rick, let's not go there, not today (at the moment, a bit depleted of emotional/intellectual energy for that one) haha. However, Scripture clearly teaches God installs leaders and gives them authority. And, obviously, God hasn't always voted as I wou...

Re: Romney
I think Romney will be our next president. If he gets the nomination, there are too many people who would vote for whoever is not Obama. Scary thing is, if the economy improves just a bit, and if a third party candidate emerges (say, like Ron Paul - scary as HE is), then you may well have the perfe...

Re: Romney
I think this guy as a high priest probably doesn't only want to accomplish his will, but would rather BECOME his will as a god also.. With his own temple too if you know what I mean. y:O2 Gman, I hate the thought of the what-ifs of Romney. But I could also say this about the others. There are some ...

Re: Romney
OK, so Romney is so intellectually daft or ignores the fact that none of the places named in the book of Mormon have ever been archaeologically validated; Believes Mormon teachings that god the father has flesh and bones and that he used to be a man on another planet, and that he is merely one god o...

Re: Prayer request for my mom
So, true, Byblos! It is this unbreakable bond that is giving her the strength to hang on until the Lord sees fit to let her suffer no more.
None of what she is going through makes any sense to us NOW...but one day, one glorious day, it WILL!
God Bless and know you're being lifted up.
