Re: The historical evidence for Christ

Some athiests are interested in learning. I have known a few who have become Christians.

Re: The historical evidence for Christ

It would be interesting to see some of the more knowledgable Christians here debate the atheists on one of their forums or even here as DannyM suggested below. I enjoy reading the debates between some of the well know theists and atheists, but I think it woul be more fun on a forum such as this, sin...

Re: Please rationalise Numbers 31 in light of a loving god?

No I do not think we should attack the Midionites! I think it is horrible that such things took place. You sure seem offended by my questions. Maybe I should have just posted my comments to an atheist forum! At least some of them will try to find a solution without badgering a person. I am not defe...

Re: Please rationalise Numbers 31 in light of a loving god?

I am sorry you feel it is nonsense, but to me it is serious. I take eternity very seriously. I do not have children and do not want them, so this issue really does not concern me firsthand. If I did have children, I would not kill them. I see God killing children in the Bible and wonder why Christi...

Re: The mystery of sin and God the Benevolent

Nothing is impossible for God. He could have given us the free will to chose this life in which to
decide to serve him or not or given us a choice to be with him in Heaven. There must be an
important reason why he did not give us this choice.

Re: Existential crisis? I don't even know.

It is a shame that miracles do not happen when there is no question of coincidence. If they did, then many more people who are lost would take notice. It is easy for us as Christians to "see" a miracle when for instance, cancer suddenly leaves a person's body with no medical intervention. ...

Re: Please rationalise Numbers 31 in light of a loving god?

So what was long ago, no longer applies? How do we know what part of the Bible still applied and what part we should follow? Jesus does not state what parts of the Old testament still apply today. I have read about the people you are refering to below, but it still does not justify why God killed t...

Re: The mystery of sin and God the Benevolent

I have a tough time with evil. I agree with you that what we call evil is the lack of love(God). You say that evil is not something to be created, so in other words, it is like cold; the absence of heat. I agree, though allolwing it to happen when he could have done something about it still disturbe...

Re: The mystery of sin and God the Benevolent

A lot needs to be defined. Free will, choice, evil. God most assuredly knew A&E's choice, as Jesus was crucified from the foundations of the Earth. God is not playing this thing by ear. Let us also keep in mind.... "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the firs...

Re: The mystery of sin and God the Benevolent

If there is free will in Heaven and no evil, then there is no reason to have any choice which we consider evil. If giving us free will was so important to God, then beings in Heaven must have free will. Therfore, God could have made this world just like Heaven, where he did not allow such a thing a...

Re: The mystery of sin and God the Benevolent

You introduced free will to this post. I was merely writing about how between 2 choices, not every choice, one does not have to be evil. If you bring in free will, you encompass an infinite amount of choices. I don't believe that free will requires evil and suffering. If it there is free will in He...

Re: What makes non-believers disbelieve?

I like what you wrote about faith. What do you mean by "faith in the world's system"? Personally, my faith in Jesus has opened up a line of questioning. I have faith that Jesus is who the Bible states he is, but I can not prove this in any way subjectively, only objectively like you state....

Re: Please rationalise Numbers 31 in light of a loving god?

No point in continuing? Why?. Well, if this is not too rude an answer, Because you are talking nonsense. No offense brother. I asked a simple question, although from the comments it seems it is a tough one to rationalize. You are not debating an atheist here who cares nothing for the Bible and unde...
