Re: America. A Christian nation?
Danny, we finally agree on something in this thread. Chances are you are probably wrong. :pound: :pound: Rick, it is certainly very possible ... :) Danny, I read a poll that says 90% of Americans think you are wrong. Rick, but not all of them will be 'real' believers in what it means to ...

Senator John Kerry
John Kerry walked into a bar. The bartender asked, "why the long face?"

Re: America. A Christian nation?
What makes a nation Christian? Let me ask it by asking this. What made Israel a Hebrew nation? Was it a man made government? Nope. It was the founding documents, a covenant, which were forged in the tenets of their religious faith, by the breathe of God himself.. If you want to talk of "God-br...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross
I wouldn't consider it being judgmental just factual. I think someone telling me I need to repent before God or I have no salvation because I don't agree with their six day cause as being harsh and judgmental, among other points. So then would you say that someone making these type of claims based ...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross
Jac, I am now agreeing with you that Physical death is evil. I looked up evil, and the #2 meaning is a "harmful, injurious". So, I guess I can possibly see physical death as harmful, or injurious to the physical body. Just like we agree that God created the heavens and the earth and every...

Re: America. A Christian nation?
Danny, I think England was and is nominally Christian just like America. Again, we disagree about that, I know. Rick, if you think that then I respect that. But you couldn't be too much further from the truth. In 17th century England religion was far more important than it is today. It was a vital ...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross
And I'm sure you know that God can use evil to produce good. That doesn't make the evil good. For all of you people who are arguing that death is either good or at least not evil, would you care give me your definition of evil? I guess you could be referring to the definition of evil that means &qu...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross
[/quote] Like I said, take that to a grieving mother when her child is killed. Tell her an evil has not befallen her. It's the moral law, Rick. It's written on the hearts of men. I have already given a philosophical justification for it. I've given a biblical justification for it. The morality is o...

Re: America. A Christian nation?
Danny, I didn't open this thread to argue more with you. I finished that with you on the other thread. Are you telling me that England wasn't a christian nation, or are you just trying to ruffle my feathers? Rick, you're taking this too personally; I'm not arguing with you. I'm asking you to show m...

Re: Dr. Hugh Ross
Jac, does it say somewhere in the bible that when a child dies it is evil? Or because people are mourning at a funeral, they are mourning because something evil happened to the one who died. I know unbelievers mourn differently than believers. My Dad died last Sept. and my family mourned because we'...
