Re: yec website?
Danny, If Hovind stumped any evolutionists, I don't think it was because of his science knowledge. I'm saying I've seen evolutionists ridicule him for his scientific beliefs. As opposed to someone like Hugh Ross absolutely destroying Hovind in that debate. Ross was a gentleman; evolutionists that I'...

Re: YEC, OEC? How'd you get there?
So look at the verse: one man sinned, and through his sin, death entered the world we all sin, and through our sins, death spreads to us I just looked up "world" in strong's concordance #2889 The #5 translation is the inhabitants of the earth, men, the human family. So, to translate what y...

Genesis 9:20,21
Genesis 9:20,21 Then Noah built an ark to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:"Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his ...

Re: YEC, OEC? How'd you get there?
You're right that I don't feel the need to press a YEC case--here or anywhere. I don't even engage in creation apologetics (I stick the the moral argument and Jesus' resurrection, and that seems to suffice in real evangelism). As you say, it's not an issue that relates to salvation, and there are f...

Re: yec website?
Danny, I know what you mean. When I started searching and studying this topic online, I did notice a lot of ridicule directed towards some YECs. I actually noticed most was directed towards Hovind. A lot was because of his incarceration and because he got his "degree" online. I think he du...

Re: yec website?
Danny, do you mean the secular sites ridiculing YECs. I would expect that from anyone with a secular background. I don't expect that from YECs and OECs who claim to be Christian. I just think if someone is secure in his beliefs, he doesn't have to prove anything. We as Christians should pray to be l...

Re: Genesis 8:21 What does "all" mean?
cslewislover, I guess it's just 2 different interpretations of words like earth, land, all, etc. OECs believe in different translations than YECs do. For example, 2Peter 3:6 By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. YECs interpret that to mean the entire globe was deluged...

Re: Internet Monk - OEC declaration
Canuckster, I absolutely agree. Any yec site that I have seen seems to say that if someone doesn't hold to their yec beliefs, he is wrong. From my experiences with yec's, they don't seem to be open to anything but their dogmatic view. That is just my experience. And my experience is recent and fairl...

Re: Internet Monk - OEC declaration
I just did a search on theistic evolution. The article I found is from a YEC site. The article states that OEC's are the same as theistic evolutionists. Its also assumes if someone is a Creationist, he must be a YEC. Do YEC's really assume all OEC's must believe in evolution? That seems to be a pret...

Re: Internet Monk - OEC declaration
OK Bart, I guess since I'm not too familiar with Theistic Evolution, I didn't think It was similar to OEC. When I hear Evolution associated with Creation, I think of Darwinian Evolution. I guess I should see what a TE believes.

Re: Questions about Noah's flood (oec version)
Whenever atheists want to start asking these types of questions, ask them for their exegetical principles and hermeneutic. For them to say that it is a straightforward reading is to take a very simplistic approach to a historical document which would have been interpreted differently then than it i...

Re: Questions about Noah's flood (oec version)
Derrick, in this article by Rich Deem "The Genesis Flood Why the Bible Says it Must be local". lists a bunch of bible verses supporting the local flood theory. For some reason I posted the link incorrectly. To me, straightforward reading, without the context of all creation stories in the ...

Re: Questions about Noah's flood (oec version)
Derrick, If the flood was local, not global, that would explain the leaf. It would have come from a plant that wasn't covered by water. This may help http://www.godandscience.org/apologetic ... PH3Z4Rtz95
