Re: The Fall and Free Will

A doctrine held by every orthodox Christian, from Catholic to Calvinist, is that Adam had complete, 'libertarian' free will before the Fall. His will was not bound; he was created perfect and with the completely free choice to follow or reject God. Since he knew God personally, he followed God and ...

I didn't do anything to that teacher, oh and by the way I'm pretty sure American kids are worst . Oh the the teacher that was bugging me was at a private school so all the kids were good. Actually all the teachers that were purposely mean to me were private schools. You a public school teacher...

Re: How do you know that God has heard your prayer?

I read a passage of the Bible every night and pray. I pray in my head - I don't say anything out loud incase someone hears me, but I'm never sure that God has heard. How do you tell? Secondly, Is it important to kneel down or pray with your hands together? I remember I used to pray with my hands to...

I graduated from high school last June and I hate to admit it but I did act rather disrespectfully towards teachers through out high school. Starting in grade 1, the vast majority of teachers made me feel like dirt on an almost daily basis. If I didn't understand something or asked for help I was m...

Re: New Bible translation promotes fornication

Almost there! one more push , here comes the head.... That is horrendous - i cant believe they are rewriting scripture. Wasn't there a warning in Revelation about what would happen if people did that. This is some Politically correct nut butting in to areas that he/she should keep well out of. We s...

I'm not a teacher, but I always think a good slap on the rear is a good way to get these kids attention these days. If that doesn't work, there are other weapons that could possibly do the trick as well... G - By the time the kid is a teenager, a "good slap on the rear" is more like...

Any teachers on this board?

Hi

Just wondering if there are any other teachers on this board? How do you find working with spoilt, arrogant, rude, nasty teenagers? A breath of fresh air? Or do you lose all faith in humanity?

As far as mainstream orthodox Christianity goes, Scientology is a cult and it is heresy. Quoted from Beliefnet : • Belief in Deity Scientology considers the belief in a God or gods as something personal and therefore offers no specific dogma. The nature of the Supreme Being is revealed personally t...

Thanks Judah - you are right as usual I shouldn't dwell on these things - but i do worry sometimes whether i will be tested sometime in my life and whether i will have the strength to keep my faith if anything happens. But like you said - i should dwell on it and just be thankful for the love of God...

Thanks for your reply Judah. That is definately a much better way of looking at that quote from Shadowlands. I need to read "A grief observed" by C.S. Lewis to understand that better. I think your comments basically reinforce what i believe - that love only makes sense if you take those mo...
